A Warrior’s Life
Torn and tattered. Beaten and Bruised. Old scars now become new wounds. Triggered and now on edge. My Life once again enters a war zone. Renewed from years of peace, I take up my purpose once more. Bitter disdain and heartfelt regret But this has always been my path. This has always been my life. And this will never change. For once a person is shattered by betrayal, boiled by rage, molded by misery, hardened by battle, and sharpened by struggle they can never be changed again. Such is my plight, my curse, my mantle, my purpose, my motivation, my life and ultimately my world. So bring unto me this battlefield I know so well, and let me plant my flag of victory so that I may reenter the realm of peace.

lids heavy, in the way tree branches get laden with crab apples in the late summertime. you handed me a flower, the darndest little thing. it's petals shimmered and gently shook in the autumn breeze. i was, at once, filled with profound wonder and endless fascination. i accepted your gift into my heart, devouring it whole. staring out into space as winter crept in, the sun grew ever closer. i never knew coolness and warmth the way they emanated from you. encapsulating my lungs in layers of ice and melting my human heart simultaneously. and as the tree blushes her sugar-sweet pink in the springtime, i inch closer to you. i breathe you in and exhale you.
