𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 | @passo.london is a modern Italian restaurant serving up small plates on the corner of Old Street Roundabout (yes, roundabouts have corners) and I got the chance to visit the other day, and I was super impressed with the food. With options ranging from pasta, veg, meat, fish, and pizza, there’s more than enough choices to get a real flavour of the menu. The food is very good, and the price does reflect this, so if I told you that I would personally pay £10 for the cheese selection (pictured) then hopefully that will give you an idea of just how good it is. From the pasta section we tried the Doppio Raviolo, which is a confit rabbit ravioli with a veal reduction jus, and my GOD that reduction is incredible. Plus the ravioli is left uncut like a giant serving. We also tried the fresh orecchiette with wild mushrooms and buffalo Camembert. This dish was slightly smaller, but still tasty. The chargrilled honey aubergine with a herb yoghurt was very nice, I like the sweet touch, but it also had a touch of chilli which kicked up the heat levels quite a bit. The braised lamb belly croquettes might have been my favourite dish of the night, the pan fried stone bass was soft and flakey, and the beef onglet came with a pretty nice Jerusalem artichoke & salsa verde. We also tried the current special which is fried chicken with a peanut sauce, and it was a fairly big portion. For dessert you HAVE to get the rhubarb cheesecake, it’s incredible. I feel lucky lately to have visited some top restaurants, and this is definitely one of them.
