Day 10 of #yarnlovechallenge ! A day late, but it comes with a story. There is more in most stashes than just yarn. There are the "stories" that come with each ball of yarn stashed! I went stash diving this afternoon. I am slept out but still fuzzy brained (I have a nasty cold), so stash diving was right up my alley! #oldstash Stash diving is a walk down memory lane. A stroll through good intentions and poor follow throughs; projects considered and then rejected; "what was I thinking" purchases; left over bits of finished projects; and a myriad of started sweaters, socks and shawls and other WIP's! Pictured is one of my first pairs of gloves, a Christmas gift for my soon to be MIL. Knit over 20 years ago. They disappeared into the "trunk" as they were "too good to be used"! My MIL died 5 years ago and I found these gloves carefully wrapped in paper in the "trunk". I put them away, forgotten until this stash dive. It is time for that memory to be dusted off. Stash is more than yarn - it is the story of our travels through the world; our attempts to learn new techniques, both our successes and failures! It is the story of our knitting dreams!
