Old Treasury Building, Melbourne. 

Located on Spring Street, East Melbourne was the home of the Treasury Department of the Government of Victoria however currently known as the Museum of Melbourne of History. Constructed between 1858-62, the building itself is considered to be one of the oldest building in Victoria with the finest Renaissance Revival touch. Built during the Victorian Gold Rush Era, the Building resemble such an influence by the Era. When walking by, one can see how the “Gold Rush” might have had an influence in the exterior of the design. Mile lewis once described the building as “finest public building exterior in Australia”.  The Exterior itself is astonishing in my ways, from the golden stone work crafted by hand, to the pillar columns that stood still in support of the structure. The Colour pallets were simple yet affective, from the brown terracotta to the golden champaign staircase, playing it well to the monochromatic look. The outside exterior of the building itself does not consist of many furnitures however just some hand rail casted in polished aluminium, two stone bench beside the main entrance as well as the hand rail leading up the staircase. The main materials used for this particular building is stone. Especially during the Victoria period era, stone were considered one of the finest material to built from. Reflect to the whole government and power, Stone were likely the number one choice. 

Built in 1858-1862 by J. J. Clark. A 19 years old Architect.
