some images from my walk this morning. It's been a lot nicer now that it's cooled a bit though it is still quite warm. And everything is in that summer supercharged life mode.
Again, my Milkweed brings all the Monarchs to the yard! This poor plant has been under constant siege by Oleander Aphids. I spray them, they die, more come in...ugh!
I did count 14 monarch caterpillars on the plant this morning! A few look like they're going to cocoon in place, some seem to be chilling, a few are having a salad, and one was heading out on a big adventure!

I’m a little concerned about the absence of ladybugs & lacewings predating on these aphids. The hoverfly larva & jumping spiders have been doing their best to pick up the slack:
