My music of 2019
Going through last posts I saw that I wrote a few posts of the songs I liked the most every month, or at least I tried a few months talking about the songs I listened to those months. So I‘ve decided to write a post about the songs and artists and well music, in general, I’ve played during this 2019 year.
So here we go...
SONGS.
Most of the songs give me good vibes, makes me feel empowered and even feeling like a diva.
- 7 rings by Ariana Grande. Feeling like a rich bitch singing this song hahahaha
- Someone to you by BANNERS. This song makes me want to start running as fast as I can, like this movie scenes where the protagonist runs smiling without any direction in mind, just happy.
- False confidence by Noah Kahan.
- Broken by Lovelytheband.
- Sucker by the Jonas Brothers. Well, the Jonas Brothers are back together and this song brought me so good memories, like sooo good memories. They could not come out with a better song to announce their back.
- Mystery by K-391 and Wyclef Jean. I don’t know but I think that this is the year where I have discovered so many new songs and new artists, and I love it. This song makes me wanna start dancing and start a flashmob.
- Dance monkey by Tones and I. At the beginning I didn’t like the song but well...look how the tables have turned.
- Good as hell by Lizzo and Ariana Grande. The lyrics make me feel good as hell literally.
- Stay Awake by Dean Lewis.
- RAIN by Ben Platt. This song makes me feel like I’m in a music video where I’m standing there looking at the people walking and you know in their own worlds, and I see all of them in slow motion when they walk pass me by.
- Juice by Lizzo. Good vibes, always good vibes. I started to listen to this song when Harry Styles made a cover of this song and I loved it.
Of course I have to have a few slow, calm and even sad songs as well, for example:
- The worrying by Oli Fox.
- Let me down slowly by Alec Benjamin and Alessia Cara. I love the part where they sing “I can’t help myself from falling”, love that part really.
- July by Noah Cyrus.
- Better by Declan J Donovan.
- Don’t give up on me by Andy Grammer. It starts slow but also makes me feel so happy.
- Memories by Maroon 5. This song bring back good memories and times, love it.
- Falling by Harry Styles. Oh god. Favourite song of his new album.
ARTISTS.
It is true that this year I’ve listened to new artists and bands but in this year those who I’ve listened the most have been:
- Billie Eilish. Who in the beginning, I felt weird to listen to her because it’s a whole different genre, but I like her a lot. My favourite songs are Bellyache, watch, you should see me in a crown and all the good girls go to hell.
- Finneas. Love his songs Shelter and Let’s fall in love for the night. And I just found out he is Billie Eilish’s brother!
- George Ezra. Love his voice, it has something that attracts me a lot.
ALBUMS.
The albums that I’ve listened to the most this year have been: No.6 Collaborations Project (Ed Sheeran), WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP WHERE DO WE GO? (Billie Eilish) and Lover (Taylor Swift)
SOUNDTRACK.
I’m the kind of person that cares about the soundtrack of the movies and TV shows. And this year I watched Big Little Lies and oh my god, the soundtrack is so freaking good, wonderful. My favourites: Cold little heart, River and What becomes of the broken hearted?. Thanks to this TV show and thanks to this beautiful soundtrack I realized how much I love this music genre.
So yes, This has been my 2019!
The first thing that struck us when we encountered Oli Fox’s Young was his voice, deep and sonorous, powerful and dynamic. It quickly drew us into the sphere of the 22 year old Londoner’s gravity as we took in his sweeping pop on the imposing song. Young is like St. Lucia’s lushness meets Tor Miller, with a depth and maturity that knocked us off our feet. Young is Oli Fox’s third single to date, out on Island Records. The budding artist will make his live debuts in London on March 14th and The Great Escape on May 9th. Having been so impressed with Young, we made sure not to miss out on Oli Fox’s prior two singles, and you shouldn’t, either! Listen to bittersweet moving The Worrying and Mikky Ekko meets Morgxn-like Cruel below, too. Stream/download new single Young, here.

Oli Fox Releases Single “Player 2”
British singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Oli Fox has released a new single “Player 2″. “Player 2″ is the result of a collaborative effort between Oli and two of his friends, Alex Stacey and Danny Casio. Although, Oli handled the majority of instrumentation on the track, Danny assisted Oli with merging samples of old games such as Mario, Space Invaders and PacMan into what we hear on the song.
On “Player 2″, Oli comments:
“[Player 2] has been a title with an empty page beneath it in my notebook for quite a while...I went through the classic back and forth of the early stages of a relationship when you’re not quite sure how much to tell them you’re into them. Eventually, I broke and told this person everything, which was so much better than playing games. I hope it reminds people of how much more fun it can be to tell someone how you really feel, which to me has even more relevance now that most people are dating from afar.”
