🐌 Favorite book in __ genre?

Since I'm essentially asking myself these questions, I'm gonna go with my favourite dystopia book.

That definitely goes to Camp Daze by Katy L Wood (aka @thatdisasterauthor)

I am kinda obsessed with their work, their style of writing is always so gripping and exciting, plus their books themselves are always gorgeous!

I have made a Challenge on StoryGraph full of what I think are fun/relatively common tropes, largely for Fantasy/Sci-Fi books, but you're free to use whatever genre you like. The link is here for anyone who would like to join!

I will be using 1 book per prompt, but feel free to use 1 book per multiple prompts. I do also think an interesting version is seeing how few books you need to cover all the prompts.

🐐 Favorite book as a kid?

I was a huge reader as a kid. My parents would buy me a new book from the supermarket when we went to the caravan, and my mother would have to stop me from reading it in the shop because I'd be almost halfway done before we even got to the tills.

I loved Jacqueline Wilson books, I don't think I could choose a favourite though.

I also remember enjoying several Michael Morpurgo books, I was even more of an animal lover as a kid so I would love reading anything to do with animals

🦊 Favorite translated book?

I haven't read many translated books, but I did enjoy My Brother's Husband by Gengoroh Tagame. It's a sweet graphic novel about a single father meeting his late brother's widowed husband and his journey to unpack Japan's societal homophobia.

🪲 Favorite non-fiction book?

Technically I already answered this in a previous post. I really don't read many nonfiction books.

I do really enjoy Caitlin Doughty's books though, Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs was very fun, and I would recommend it to anyone, especially those with kids going through the morbid stage where they're interested in death

I'd also like to mention Guantanamo Voices: True Accounts from the World's Most Infamous Prison by Sarah Mirk. Its a graphic novel and was a really interesting way to learn more about the prison and it's history.

🪿 Favorite audiobook/audiobook that you thought was done well?

I haven't read a huge number of audiobooks, I have only recently gotten into listening to them more. I'd probably say my favourite one has been Aurora Rising by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman

I really enjoyed that each character's POV was voiced by a different person. It really helped distinguish the different characters (and hearing each voice actor try to imitate the others voices was very fun)

🐝 Book you’re most excited about on your TBR?

Uhhh,,,, my TBR has officially hit 250 books so it's hard to choose

I am looking forward to finally reading Aurora's End by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman, because I really want to know how that story ends, even though I've been putting it off because I don't want to be done with it

I also recently bought Apparently Sir Cameron Needs to Die by tumblr's own Greer Stothers ( @pangur-and-grim ) and For Whom The Belle Tolls by tiktoker Jaysea Lynn, both of which I'm interested to read.
