olitdp update

hello! i know it has been a ridiculously long time since i last posted - once again. i will not bother you with excuses, but i do come bearing good news!

the first draft of chapter 29 is finished - i'm hoping to publish by wednesday or thursday, depending on how well the rewrite goes. but at some point in the coming week, the new chapter will be up. currently, it's at 5,5k - i'm guessing the final word count will be somewhere around 6k.

this will be the penultimate chapter of our love is these days' piano - so we are very close to the end!

thank you all so much for your patience and your interest in the story, even though updates have been so irregular. the support you guys have given me has been awe-inspiring.

what drew you to write Penelope/Anthony? or just the ship in general?

thank you so much for the question! to be honest, i'm not really sure if i can pinpoint an exact reason. i remember watching the show and just wanting nothing but the best for my beloved penelope. from the very first episode, she was my favourite character. because of that, i just wanted someone to look beyond her family and her garish wardrobe and her shyness and see how beautiful, smart and witty she was - even though she is flawed.

as for anthony, he's got everything i look for in a regency gentleman. he's tall and maddeningly handsome with his big brown eyes and his gorgeous smile, but - and this is my favourite bit - he's a complete idiot. he's got the biggest case of emotional constipation and he's utterly oblivious to all the problems that causes and even more oblivious as to how to solve them. I LOVE IT.

so naturally, i want to cause him all the mental anguish by letting him fall for penelope without even properly realising it. i just really, really love two idiots in love.

and the more i write and read about them, the more i'm convinced they're perfect for each other. i've got nothing against colin or kate, but it's just weird to see penelope and anthony with other characters now. i forget they're not canon. thanks for the ask! this was great fun to answer.

for anyone interested in a head's up, i am in the final stretch of finishing the last chapter of our love is these days' piano. i am completely done with 2 out of the 3 scenes - the chapter is currently at 4,5k. if everything goes as planned, chapter 30 of olitdp will be posted this weekend.
