I thought it was weird that a character named Tyrian (a type of purple) wears predominantly white and brown, so I recolored him. Didn’t change his actual design since I think it’s pretty good, except for those bandages on his arms. Have a great day!!!

It’s not that hard to just put him in purple-

THIS IS GREAT!!! HOW HARD IS IT TO PUT TYRIAN IN PURPLE?!?!? They didn’t even need to start from scratch with him just recolor the outfit, that’s all. RWBY has lore that’s tied to color because of the Great War, it’s important. Why are they afraid in making their characters colorful ever since?

But whatever. This is very nice and makes my life better.

Overall the lesson for the day is this… don’t name your RWBY OC’s after a color, flower, element, etc. if they’re not gonna have any visual ties to it-

Cause in the art world, it’s kinda illegal to have a character named Olive and then not have said character wear the pretty shade of green.

Or a character named Elm and Vine and uh… also not have them in a pretty shade of green either.

RWBY Bram’s Allusion

RWBY Arrowfell has showcased a variety of new characters. As a usual RWBY fan, I observe these characters and anything they have to offer to try and piece together who they’re based on. Today I will showcase what I’ve managed to find out for one of these characters, Bram Thornmane.

Based on what the game showcased of this character, I believe that Bram is based on Count Dracula, from the novel by Bram Stroker. It is said that one of his inspirations for making the story was a lone thorn tree in Ireland, hence his name. There are also a lot of mentions of thorns in the actual novel, and thorns are a common element associated with vampires.

Bram wears red, the color of blood. Vampires absorb the lives of beings by drinking their blood. His weapons are a pair of short swords, similar to vampire fangs. They can convert into a bow with arrows, which is a common weapon used against vampires (or rather a crossbow). During his boss fight, he releases pods of Swindlens, new Grimm introduced for the game. Their appearance is very similar to those of bats, having long ears and sharp fangs.

In the beginning of Dracula, Johnathan Harker, the main character, befriends Dracula in his castle before he finds out his true intentions as a vampire and escapes. Bram's associate, Olive Harper, was working alongside Bram until she found out his true plans. She left his side and turned herself in for her actions.

Dracula had an assistant, Renfield, an insane man who ate living creatures believing he could absorb their life force. In Arrowfell, Bram’s other associate, Hanlon, used his semblance to absorb the emotions of civilians in accordance with their plan.

Dracula plagued a small town, Whitby, before he was hunted down. Bram was the protector of the town Essen, and throughout the game gets found out by Team RWBY. Some locations introduced in the game are called Essen, Dormir, and Crossed. Essen and Dormir mean eat and sleep. These are very common points brought up when discussing vampires ("They eat beings" "They don’t need sleep" "You can repel them with a Holy Cross")
