this would be true but franziska von karma exists
oh damn you caught me out
tbh phoenix and maya don't look much older either in like the 3ds games
yeah lol i talked about maya earlier too
with phoenix it’s like. along with reverting to pre-aa4 phoenix as soon as he got his badge back (with some subtle character changes i GUESS) they mostly reverted to his old look too
dgs-or-bust replied to your post: how much you wanna bet that the ace attorney game...
Honestly hoping that it might be the DGS series because I am hopelessly optimistic about Capcom not screwing us over

look even if it is, if they put investigations 2 on there i’m still gonna buy it
these opinions are both very valid but I’m just too bitter to get my hopes up tbh

I promise I’ll get back to posting DCMK stuff...
tell me more about this crossover…
I have endless AUs and crossovers someone please stop me
Anyway, Quirks are a Thing, MK kids are still in Ekoda and DC kids in their various places of living. Who has what Quirk, you ask? Well...
Kaito: Mockingbird- he can mimic any sound he’s heard. He also has some feathers that he’s a bit vain about. As Kaito Kid he pretends to have a shapeshifting Quirk. Kid is... technically a villain, though he’d prefer to be called a vigilante. Which is still illegal.
Aoko: Quirkless but will destroy you. She must never meet Bakugou or shit will go down. While she’s not recognized as a vigilante or a hero, she has held her ground against several low-tier villains. Lacking a quirk actually helps her there, as she can claim self-defense without breaking quirk-regulation laws.
Akako: Ensorcell- she can control the thoughts of anyone whose eyes she meets- to an extent; it gets weaker the more people she’s controlling at once. She’s trying to make her villain debut as the Red Witch, but keeps running into Kid.
Hakuba: Still Shot- basically a perfect photographic memory of an instant when he uses his Quirk. He uses this to analyze in fine detail crime scenes and individuals. He’s still a teen detective, and has a particular interest in vigilantes.
Shinichi: Shark (I had to)- while his quirk would be excellent as a hero if he applied his sharp, self-replenishing teeth and rough skin to combat, he instead prefers to hone his sense of smell and electrical reception to aid him in detective work. He totally also has gills and a dorsal fin. As Conan, he pretends not to have those senses and that he’s some other fish, like a barracuda or something.
Ran: Strength- It’s a strength-augmenting quirk, what do you expect? People keep telling her she should try to become a hero, but she’s still considering her options. She has gotten in trouble a couple of times for using her Quirk out in public without a permit.
Heiji: Prophet- If he holds something while he sleeps, his dreams will show a snippet of sometime in the next three days that that object is present for. He has no real idea of how to control it, and thought he was Quirkless for the longest time.
Kazuha: Talisman- She can infuse objects she holds with a charm that makes them glow and hum if the person nearest to them at any given time is in danger. She only really uses it on small items like omamori.
In addition: UA is still a thing, but none of the DCMK kids attend. The Detective Boys want to be heroes when they grow up, Kamen Yaiba is an actual hero who works in Beika, the Black Org and MK Org are villain groups, Ai’s quirk basically makes her blood APTX 4869, and the FBI, CIA, and Secret Police agent characters are all heroes.
I don’t have a plot, but if anyone wants to use this for something, just let me know.
just my two cents but i still think that much of the divergence in dirk interpretation comes down to how much stock we put in his opinion of himself, which tends to be pretty negative. like, the things his splinters and alt-selves do and say that aren't really his choices or his words aren't his fault, but he still thinks of them as his responsibility and reflective on who he is. it's probably a heart thing. although i guess it does also bring up the subject of ultimate selves and all that.
Right like? Plenty of Homestuck characters take on outsize responsibility about stuff and conflate circumstance their own understandable mistakes with compromising their inherent worth as people. Nobody looks at Terezi’s speech about how she’s terrible for choosing to kill Vriska or Jake’s speech about how all his friends hate him and he deserves it and goes “Hmm yes this character reached a logical conclusion about themselves and reckoned with their flaws as people.” and leaves it at that? Only Dirk gets that treatment lmao. MAYBE Vriska in some circles--and Dirk doesn’t do an iota of the stuff Vriska does.
