thinking about the tuckeyprowse temeraire au again...originally i gave george his own dragon and had frederick as his lieutenant but thinking about it now it might make more sense for frederick to be his dragon...lets him fulfill his desire to be needed + protect george and also doesn't put a dragon-shaped wedge in the middle of their relationship. although jealous frederick could be interesting. which would mean frederick's sisters would be dragons too...or maybe mary could be olivia's captain? which again lets them have a similar sort of dynamic as they would as humans...olivia being an older dragon who literally and figuratively takes frederick under her wing when he arrives at the covert...maybe mary could be a younger officer first, but they're expecting her to be olivia's captain when she's old enough?
