The tiefling gave a few quick swings of her great axe to try and get some of the blood off of its blade. She didn’t mind a bit of blood, of course, but that stuff gets everywhere. She’d rather not attract any wild animals with the scent of blood on her—nor did she care to tempt their vampiric friend with blood he couldn’t reach.

Karlach then put away the large axe and turned to the wizard, a bright grin upon her lips. “We’re friends, yeah? I’ll always cover for my mates.” They had just been in a rather dangerous battle, and Gale had been cornered. The blood on Karlach’s axe was from his attacker, who she quickly took care of.

She carefully looked over the wizard, making sure he wasn’t too hurt. A short rest would do them good, but if Gale was too injured to move properly, maybe he needed a healing potion first. “How’re you feeling? Need me to get you a potion?”

The question gives her reason for pause, reason enough to set the piston she’d been hefting on a nearby tree stump.

She offers Soren a small shrug, a bit of a chuckle. “I could preach until I’m blue in the face, but the fact of the matter is that people just.. Won’t be convinced by a few words on my end. I wouldn’t be either if I were in their shoes. So-“

Ellie lifts the piston again, voice straining momentarily from the effort, and tucks a repeater under her arm. “-if I can’t- prove myself through my words, I can put on the best show they’ve ever seen.”

She orients the piston where she wants it, and arranges the repeater in a certain fashion. The circuits she’d been connecting begin to emanate, vivid red and sparking- and Ellegaard gives it a proud once-over, and dusts off her gloves before going to stand next to Soren.

“Then they can come to their own conclusions about me, and what I’m capable of! Nice and factual.”

"Yeah, I could've - but where's the fun in thaaaat?" Nimona drags out the word with long, dramatic sigh before flopping back onto the couch. "It worked out in the end, didn't it? See! Not that bad then!"

Well, that was certainly one way of looking at it.

The incident in question? Oh, nothing much. Just casually turning into a giant, hulking beast made of shadows, lumbering through the city while taking shot after shot from various military-grade weapons, and then promptly jumping off a statue, turning into a giant firebird, and charging directly into a high-powered long-range ion canon. For Gloreth's sake - everyone in the kingdom thought she was DEAD.

But sure, it all worked out in the end.

"Don't be so gullible, boss. You didn't really think that one little blast from a pea-shooter like that was gonna do me in, did ya? I told you - I've been through worse." She leaned back against the couch, nodding slowly with all the casualness and candor of someone who had just finished talking about their boring day or their boring weekend plans. "Besides, you made me a deal. We clear your name, and you make me your official sidekick. No. Take-backsies."

And there was no way she was going to pass that up.

“Oh wow, uhm…hi! I wasn’t expecting to have a visitor, or visitors. I’m Kate. Kate Bishop!” Kate introduced herself with genuine kindness, trying to hide her subtle surprise. She has a whole bunch of questions to ask but she wasn’t sure if it’s the best idea to ask.

She was holding her bow and arrow as she chuckled awkwardly. “Oh uh…if you don’t mind, could you give me one of my arrows back?” She questioned politely, anxiety starting to slip through a bit.

“Kate! Come on, what’s taking so long?” Clint’s voice could be heard in the distance.

Rocket handed her the entire Quiver of arrows he was holding onto. "Hey don't sweat it, I thought I had the wrong place," he replied, scratching his chin with his free hand as he waited for her to take her arrows back.

"I was actually looking for Barton," he stated, "heard he was headed here, and well ..." he trailed off his eyes darting to his lockpick kit on the table nearby.

"Looks like it." Well, technically HE was the one stuck in the room. She could always travel back to the cyberspace she resided in when Miguel didn't need her assistance. But she couldn't go anywhere else physically but this room.

So yeah, she guesses she was stuck in here too. But Miles was hardly the worst person to be stuck with.

The AI sighs and one again, attempts to open the door herself by overriding the code and is, once again, met with a big fat ERROR. She finally gives up on that and disappears, only to rematerialize by Miles' side. "So, not only did you manage to avoid capture from the entire Spider Society, but you also managed to slip past me unnoticed. Gotta say, I'm impressed, kid."
