[[-GIMME THE SOUND, TO SEE ANOTHER WORLD OUTSIDE THAT’S FULL OF ALL THE BROKEN THINGS THAT I MADE-]]

Song number two 'if I directed the next Guardians of the Galaxy movie' for the second montage that further flashes back on specific details of what Rocket's dealing with in trying to figure out his body to see if he can fix it somehow only to finally be faced with issues his clever brain can't solve, while hiding that he's having any issues until everyone is noticing and worried.
If I directed a Guardians of the Galaxy movie, this is the song I want for the opening shot when we explore how Knowhere has changed since Rocket has taken over leadership, dealing with overcoming his past and the change in pace on his life, revealing subtle changes in his health, distancing of Peter as their paths become further and further estranged ...and watching as he has successfully become the 'hero' he was destine to be before we lead into his final adventure that reunites him with Peter for one last mission.
what should I say?
Rocket from Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream
He did find it a little odd that they would bring up their ship like that when he didn't mention anything about ships. But this little guy was just about to get shredded by those big nasty bugs so Ratchet would not be surprised if they were not thinking as clearly as they usually do, what with the stress of the situation and all.
"Well if that's the only problem you got then don't worry, if there's one thing I'm good at it's getting a ship that ain't flyin' flyin', haha."
Speaking of ships he wondered if any of his were also caught in that rift or if of his crew he alone was brought to this place, where or even what ever this strange infested place was. The Captain would just have to keep an eye out and his armor scanning for any transponder signals.
"Yeah, I'm more or less the same I think? I just got here myself and you're the first friendly face I've seen."
Finding a sizable rock that wasn't moving too fast and seemed solid enough the Lombax would gently touch down upon its surface. Once he was relatively sure they were the only two lifeforms on it his passenger would be placed down on their own feet. Hopefully they would be able to get some sort of baring from here.
"We should take a moment to regroup, we might not get a chance to later. First thing, I don't suppose you have a name or should I just make one up? I could probably think of a few."
Most of which being things Pi himself has been called over the years. The only times he's ever hung out with a fellow furball this short were his various past encounters with Mobians and this guy certainly didn't fit that bill. It all just made him more curious about what they were but he was not about to ask straight up like this, not yet anyway.
"Normally I am too, but... I lack the components I need," Rocket responded, but he wasn't about to shut down help he might need. As they got to solid ground, Rocket took a few steps back to give his rescuer some breathing room, and as they weren't in immediate danger got the first good look at the guy who saved his ringtail only moments ago.
"I'm Rocket," he responded, as he collapsed his gun into a more compact size and threw it onto his magpack that kept it attached to his back.
He was just as curious about what his new friend was too, for similar reasons. Finding sentient creatures who could speak and were covered in fur like himself was rare, even when traveling through so many star systems. He never talked about it but he always secretly hoped they'd find world with people more like himself, a place he could blend into without turning any heads, because even among the strange and weird of worlds that welcomed people from many planets he was still considered an oddity.
"Friendly, huh?" he said with a smirk, "well I'm guessin' there ain't much competition for that title, huh? But more importantly, why don't you introduce yourself? I done a lot of traveling and never seen anything like you before. You're... not from Andromeda are you?" Rocket's tone was almost uncharacteristically calm and curious. Lacking his usual gruffness in the moment, as they got the formalities out of the way. He didn't get credit for it, but he could be very polite and charming when it suited him and he had no reason not to show a bit of gratitude and manners to the other space-traveler, and even if he was being a bit blunt he wasn't trying to be rude.

Oh my gosh this is so funny 🤣🤣🤣 He says it so fast lol
How have I never seen this clip before? Seems nobody ever includes it in their videos
He's handsome
whats Rockets fav beach boys song?
That's a tough one, but I want to say Shut Down would be up there
I also think he'd secretly like "I Get Around" because it reminds him of Quill.
/// Headcanon: Rocket likes the Beach Boys. ///
Regardless of if that little excuse for a blast actually hit one of the bugs or not, Ratchet could not hide his cringe at seeing that pathetic little showing. With any luck they'll be able to touch down somewhere and get to work on that, among various other things. Speaking of which.
"Other than away from that swarm I have no idea. Actually, I was hoping you might know a spot we could land."
Gently his free left hand would come to rest upon his little passenger's upper torso. Rocket would be able to easily slip out of his grip if he so choose, but the Lombax's hope was if something happened he could really latch on and prevent the fuzz-ball pair from being separated.
"I'm going to take a wild guess that you're not a native here?"
Either that or this dimension was stranger than he thought. Either way this little guy at least seemed friendly enough so far. But he'll have to see how they'll act once they were more sure that they were out of danger, so his right hand still held firm to his cannon just in case.
"HA!" Rocket scoffed. "You think if I had an idea of where to go, I'd have been in that mess in the first place? My ship's uhh..."
Rocket took a good hard look at his savior and his ears pinned back. "It ain't flyin'," he finally settled on after a slight pause. He didn't want to say too much yet. His ship only needed some simple repairs that could be easily done if he could just steal parts from any other broken ship, but he'd been bitten one too many times for trusting strangers too quickly and he didn't want to mention it until he knew what he was dealing with.
"But you'd be right, I ain't native here, I'm just more or less what you'd call lost... maybe stuck is a more accurate term. What about you?"
Rocket didn't mind the adjustment, he wasn't new to flying around by any means but even less new to riding along someone else, but he was for the most part avoiding eye contact just out of the embarrassment of the situation for himself-- or at least, it felt less rude.
Is it spooky tiem yet?
"YeaH, NOW HOLD ON!"
Quickly retracting his metal hand and using his other to hold onto the little fuzzball, Ratchet would launch them both up out of the swarm and into whatever passed for the sky within this strange dimension. However a portion of the bugs up their backs, revealing dark wings they used to give chase after the pair.
"OH, C'MON! THEY FLY NOW!?"
Switching out the oversized blade for the cannon on his hip he took aim below. But quickly realizing the gap between them was widening the Lombax held his fire. There was no need to waste the ammunition he thought. Still he kept the weapon in hand should there be any other surprises waiting for them out here, where ever here was.
"...Okaaay, maybe I overreacted at first."
Rocket really appreciated the assist, if at the very least it meant he could live another day. He was hoping where ever he was going might mean he'd have access to tools to repair his equipment. He didn't so much as flinch when he saw the bugs fly. "Of course they fly, they got wings don't they? Not much for flyin' though, takes too much energy for those creepy crawlies. They're scavengers so not much for huntin'..."
He was being a bit more quiet than he usually was accustom to, so suddenly he felt a mighty need to fill the silence with his usual chatter. He noticed this especially since he hadn't had an actual conversation with another living being it what he assumed was a few months.
As they were making their distance, Rocket shot a test fire at the bugs one last time, to see if it was working again. It had a meager charge but it did fire a sort of pathetic little blip at the creatures. His ears pinned back in his own self defeat. If this cat-like cyborg hadn't been there there was no doubt his own cybernetic ass would have been a bug buffet. He let out a small amused huff at the mental image of it, wondering if they'd have tried eating his metal bits and whether or not that'd give them indigestion.
As the fear of danger started to dissipate, Rocket's focus was less on survival, and more onto what lied ahead. After a very short moment of being silent, clinging against the strange cat-like creature he made a thoughtful popping noise with his mouth before he looked up at Ratchet with a raise brow.
"So... uh... can't help but ask... where are you taking us exactly?"
/// Things in the house have been chugging along, and the dust is startling to settle after 'the move'. I am also settling back into RPing but realize as I been uprooting my life to relocate it and redesign my entire living space, RPs have long since been neglected-- so here's a soft call out that if we had a thread and you know I didn't respond, just leave a like on this post as a gentle call of interest that you'd still be cool if I replied to it now, and I'll look for it! I just wanna make sure that the things I look for will be actually wanted again. ///
Once that energy intensified until it seemed to burn white the Lombax raised the weapon over his head before slamming it into the ground in front of him. Unleashing a fiery shock wave forward which pushed the horde back, annihilating the bugs up front, while setting those further back ablaze. Though it appeared to do little against the ever increasing numbers.
"I bought us a little time but we can't defend this position."
Extending his right arm towards his new partner, their metal hand would fire off from the wrist and impact into the ground by their feet, with a solid cable connecting it to the rest of the robotic limb. All the while his left on just kept on swinging and swinging that oversized blade.
"Hop on, I'll get us out of here!"
Rocket’s ears flattened as the heat from the shockwave rushed past him He squinted through the flames and smoke as bugs screeched and burned, some of them still twitching as they collapsed in heaps. He hated bugs. Especially giant, acid-spitting ones that didn’t know when to quit.
"Remind me to never piss you off," he muttered, coughing once and wiping gunk off his cheek with the back of his paw.
The moment Ratchet’s hand hit the ground near him, Rocket didn’t hesitate. He clipped his gun to his back, after gave one last parting shot to a bug getting too close, then leapt toward the tether. He had no real choice but to trust the guy. He was after all making an honest rescue.
As he clung tight, swinging just above the gnashing mandibles and skittering death below, he couldn’t help but bark out a manic, wild laugh. Nearly escaping death seemed to be a reoccurrence these days, and it never got old.
At risk of sounding proud. I love my Gaia avatar of Rocket
