cw contagion
going insane over a person with an awful summer cold in a pharmacy with the air conditioning turned up to an all time high, coughing and sneezing their head off and all over the place while they hazily try to find medicine that can make a dent to their congested little head...
on the way there, the sun pelts at their skin, and yet they’re so, so cold at the same time. anyone who looks at them would know instantly that they were sick. the poor sickie despises the looks that they’re getting. the attention being drawn towards them with every spraying sneeze, and every wet sniffle.
when they enter the pharmacy, the cold breeze of the air conditioning makes them sneeze. once, from the temperature change, and other one, because their nose is just that tickly. but even then, after those two sneezes, it wasn’t enough to satisfy that omnipresent itch in their sinuses. oh well. they’d just have to resign to sniffling and rubbing their nose sore with their sleeve.
the pills in the bottle they’re holding rattle as they muffle a coughing fit into their free hand, followed by a sniffle. they have a glazed look to them as they hitch and hitch, and then, they release two loud, uncovered sneezes.
and yet, despite the mess they made, they set down the medicine bottle and look for another brand. something that wouldn’t knock them asleep five minutes after taking it, because they are oh so busy with work. they try to blink back the tears in their eyes, feeling glares and disgusted noises of disapproval ring around their surroundings.
if only they had someone to take care of them. because, clearly, they need it.
