Honestly, I was prepared not to like you. Not because of anything you did, but just because I believed you couldn’t like your friends’ exes. But when you literally echoed my thoughts about exes in the middle of the Christmas tree maze I knew you were the exception. You surprised me. I think I took you for granted, especially in the times we were together. I always felt like you had expectations I couldn’t reach, but now I’m thinking maybe I didn’t try? Like... maybe the expectations were really just me projecting what I thought you wanted? I dunno. I wish I handled it differently, but I think you’d probably be better off without me at the moment.
