I don’t know if it’s just me who stumbled on very bad takes or if it’s a general misconception in the olnf fandom but Opale is very much aro/ace coded ?
I see a lot of people trying to mention a dad ( in regard of opale ) but it’s said that she’s an independent lady who is not interested or have high standards to settle down who wanted to have a kid on her own. There isn’t a person to fulfill the role has a dad because she chose to do it on her own ( which is very brave to do ). She chose a sperm donor and it was chosen to not have any contact with him ( so mutual no contact ) which mean there isn’t even a possibility for a dad in at least the emotional sense because the role of the donor in the story is just this title « the donor »
If you want to have Opale in à relationship or have a sort of double parental figure for some reason then you can look at Yussuf who is an older male figure who has been hinted as liking Opale but also having a cool familly vibe type of role in the story.
Now the mc can feel how they want about this situation this isn’t something that is on their hands as this lack of relationship has been settled and agreed in the narrative. You can make up your headcanons sure but don’t erase the representation that is Opale, it’s rare to have stories with a donor parent but even more rare to see an independent ( probaly on the aroace spectrum ) woman being independent while still wanting to have a family.
