Otl Aicher’s 1972 Olympics Design
I’m very happy to have been introduced to Aicher’s work by my college tutor. I was immediately taken by his modern style. He used grids and structure to create a sophisticated feel that’s similar to the simplistic graphics that are seen today. I am also very fond of the colour palette used, and I agree that the designs overall have remained timeless and would easily fit into the world now.
Aicher’s use of pictograms made the design and infographics very inclusive to a world audience...and which we now universally see in use on our journey to seek out the public restrooms.
