wow. he sure is tall.

“nooo…” turen draws out the syllable, letting it perk up innocently as he trails off. now that she’s coaxing him to talk, his fallback is to fidget, long fingers making themselves a home tangled into the bottom of his fuzzy sweater. it’s a soft lavender today, with turquoise swirls, somehow oversized despite of his large frame—and he wears it well, too, even if it is somewhat ridiculous paired with the beret on his head. he’s been to paris before.
“pink is my favorite color,” he says plainly, but as his smile grows, so does the appreciation in his tone. perhaps he’s flirting a LITTLE, but sometimes it pains him to be blatant. his sisters are always telling him he’s strange, and it’s true—approaching strangers in public with compliments, regardless of good or bad intent, is off-putting these days.
his smile was contagious.
all of him, in fact, was beautiful. especially the way the vibrant pattern of his sweater swallowed up the neutrals of his remaining attire and yet found a balance within his smooth, immaculate skin. noemi’s amber eyes drifted down and watched as his fingers gripped the hem of the fur, scrunching and easing (and scrunching & easing) they relaxed, and her eyes met his again. every detail she found intrigued her, and it became apparent: he wasn’t from here.
had her cheeks not already been dusted with an artificial rose tint, the warmth rising to her face would have been more prominent. regardless, she accepts this flattery, offering him her full attention as a gesture of thanks by turning to face him head on now.
“ well, in that case, i’m pleased you find it so appealing, ” a pause, “ ah, the last time someone so au courant complimented me i made an appearance in their magazine. if that so happens to be where this is going you’ll have to let me politely decline i don’t even read those myself anymore. ”
she tested the beret atop his head with a slip of french; oh, he was peculiar and she wanted nothing more than to explore him further. where had he come from, and how long had he been here, here in new york? she tucked a lock of hair behind her hair, away from the effects of the gentle wind that danced through every stand against their will and laughed.
“ however if it’s me you’re referring to, and not just the color i adorn i’ll have to add that i’m quite a fan of lilac, myself. ”

Her writing style’s very much influenced by the books she’s read. It’s quite minimalistic, but she tends to use interesting or unusual words when she can. It kinda reminds me of Aimee Bender or Liz Lochead. She doesn’t tend to write letters a lot, but she actually writes poetry, and has a small notebook filled with her poems in her backpack.
