Vivid Stratford

The word "vivid" has its etymology in the Latin "vivere", that is, to live. I usually have the image of the Olympic Village being quite sterile however, being a regeneration of a former light industrial site, with lots of new housing being put up, yet with much of that housing being owned by investors rather than people putting up roots there, the very definition of gentrification, and most days, it does feel quite empty.

However, on the day I took this, there were lots of young families out and about, which really does suggest that there is some hope for an organic community to grow there.
