The Goodyear blimp is back!

On Day 2939 photo of the day was the Goodyear blimp over the Shard. Today is was back and flew almost directly overhead.

World Cup fever on the Kirby Estate, Bermondsey, London

This photograph almost aged badly. Although taken the day before the England vs DR Congo match, it wasn't queued to post until afterwards. I'm still remain far from convinced, it will age well!

The new outdoor swimming pool in Middle Dock, Canary Wharf, London.

Until this year, you could use the whole of Middle Dock for open water swimming but there were never this many people using it. Now only a small corner of Middle Dock has been sectioned-off as a swimming pool and it has become far more popular. Bizarre! I want the old open water swimming back please!

Not the Loch Ness Monster

This is actually "Boat", a sculpture outside Guy's Hospital in London. It represents a Roman boat which sank nearby. Nevertheless it still looks like the Loch Ness Monster which has of course never made its way up the River Thames to London as far as I am aware.

A "ghost" mosaic.

Under the railway viaduct on Borough High Street in London there is this mosaic on the wall. It is right outside a Starbuck's. For this reason it might be thought to be fake but my research indicates that the mosaic is genuine and has been restored. Obviously there is no smoking room in Starbuck's though
