·•● sentimentality
Sentiment, something the great Ra's al Ghul used to understand fluently back when he had love. When his world revolved around thoughts and actions of bettering humanity out of good will rather than diminishing the species in order to give Earth a new life, a new opportunity. There were many times, many that may have gotten him to reflect on his humanity but none have done so in the same sense Sora had. A life without her causes him to ignore the treasures he'd seen his men slowly collect from Talia's home. Unsuspected, they've been obtaining the photographs and/or other articles that remind his daughter of her son. Of his failure of an heir.
He was but a failure, a fool that shouldn't be remembered but for ridicule and a re-attempt to cause his heir to not be like Damian was. A defiant child, one that is unnecessary and unworthy of the al Ghul name, just as he is unworthy of standing by the Detective's side. In due time, the assassin child will defy his father much like Ra's own daughter defies him. At which point, the Detective will regret bringing in such an ungrateful brat home.
Ra's sighs. His eyes trail from the photo of what looks to be a laughing Damian and then to his daughter's face. "Is this truly where your time is spent?" His hand picking up the framed photograph, a look of disgust as he took slow and deliberately heavy footsteps towards her. Standing upright and dignified, his neck and body graced with the luxurious green fabric that makes his cloak. Wise eyes boring into her as he continues to speak, "the great Ra's al Ghul has a daughter who dares be sentimental towards her failure of an offspring?"
