Day had broken. Night was beginning to fall. Finn’s fingers etched at a pencil drawing on the back of a receipt, shading the fur of the fanged creature he had drawn, when a shadow fell across his page, blocking the last rays of the sun from his drawing. “No, you cannot go on the Ferris Wheel. I finish shift in three minutes and it takes longer than that to complete it’s circuit. If you have any complaints, you can deal with my fists. Now move out of the light.”

The morning had started off how it always did. Lia woke up and she prepared breakfast for her boys, typically she would sneak into Teddy's room and wake him up too, but since he moved out she's been having to remind herself that there's no one in his old bedroom, and that thought alone made her feel uneasy. Teddy was all grown up now, twenty-two and going to university, working along side her as a partner instead of a little assistant. Her Teddy Bear was an adult now, and maybe even more so than her. But just because he was all grown up it didn't stop her from babying him, making his favorite breakfast and sitting him down to fawn over him when he finally showed up.

Breakfast was over now though, Teddy was opening up the shop and Adrian had gone back over t open up his own, leaving Lia to get ready to head to work at the school, she was excited to see her class, see the little souls that she could help find their way just like she had with little Teddy. She was making her way down the street, a container of twenty-four cupcakes in her hands when she felt her heel get stuck between the cracks in the sidewalk, eyes going wide as she just about nearly fell over, her heel left behind as she was able to stable herself and keep the cupcakes from falling out of her hold. "Oh my gods!" She exclaimed in a laugh, looking behind her at the lone heel sticking up from the sidewalk where it was lodged, and rolling her eyes smiling at the onlooker who had seen the whole ordeal, "Everyday sort of thing for me," She laughed as she hobbled back over, bending down and tugging her heel up from the sidewalk, "I got lucky this time, last time I was wearing my cupcakes all over my dress."

Laurel heaved a sigh. She tried to push back all negative thoughts and vibes in her head, but she couldn’t help but feel a small sense of futility. They were bound to consumer her every once in a while. Laurel had made a personal resolution before: when she would feel herself recessing into her past, into the times when she wished she could just forget and leave in the past, behind a mentally constructed shut door - she was to take a breath and take a walk. This time, however she found herself subconsciously setting for the Dionysus’ Brewery. She wasn’t sure what she was expecting herself to do. All she knew, is that she wanted at least the option of sulking about her history in the presence of quality, body-soothing wine.

As she approached the door, a fellow townie had pulled open the door from the inside for her and allowed her to walk through. Dismissing the kind fellow, she muttered a simple ‘thanks’, and in a rush to avoid conversation, she bumped right into someone else. Boy, this place was a little more crowded than she’d expected. ‘Sorry, I didn’t see where I was going’, muttered she.
