Adrian Clarke is 33 years old, he has been in town for 23 years, is a son of Hephaestus, and he looks a lot like Ben Barnes.

Up until he was about ten years old, Adrian grew up with a single mother that worked two jobs to make sure he never wanted for anything. He always looked up to his mother, not caring to hear about his father, just figuring it was like some of the other kids he knew with only one parent. His mother did try to explain to him just who he was exactly, but Adrian never cared to hear it, always changing the subject or asking her to play instead. When he was about nine years old, a child of Hebe came to their door, talking about the dangers of him staying in plain sight for too long. Adrian worried about the danger his mother would be in, but neither wanted to leave the other, and he didn’t want to go off to some strange town all by himself. So he decided to stay, and his mother took to moving them every couple of months, wanting to keep him out of sight for as long as possible until the day they were attacked by what Adrian now realizes was a harpy. It caught them off guard, his mother protecting him the best she could and getting injured in the process. While she wasn’t hurt too badly, Adrian realized that it could’ve been much worse than what it had turned out to be, and that was why when the child of Hebe came back, Adrian told his mother he wanted to go to the town with them.
It was hard for Adrian to leave his mother, even though he knew it was for the best. He felt out of place in this big town, not knowing or trusting anyone, but Ambrosios made sure to make him feel at home. Eventually, Adrian relaxed and let himself enjoy the town, growing to love it and consider it his home, though every few months, he would meet up with his mother, who had gotten a place just an hour’s drive away from Olympus, for a few days, just to catch up with her and let her know how he was adjusting to living in town. When he was sixteen though, he met Lia Godfrey and her little brother, Theo, and everything seemed to fall into place. Adrian took an instant liking to them, meeting them on their first day, and admiring how much Lia took care of her brother as though he was her own son. He could tell how much genuine love was there, and he missed feeling and seeing that dynamic. He fell in love with them both, the three of them becoming a family as he helped Lia raise Theo, eventually even coming to see him as a son. Hew knew it was probably odd that he was so young and so willing to help out this girl, but it just felt right to him, he couldn’t explain it, and he didn’t want to. He just knew that he loved being a part of this little family.
Adrian still leaves for a few days every month to see his mother outside of town, but now he takes his family with him to meet her. Since he’s grown up in town, he’s seen it change a lot and he knows it pretty well. He took the first chance he could get to open up his store after he graduated high school, wanting there to be a place people could come to when their things needed fixing or upgrading, rather than them just pestering each child of Hephaestus they could find until one of them took the job. He loves to help people, always coming into work early and staying until closing, even doing house calls after hours when something goes wrong afer he’s closed up shop. Lia tends to scold him for working so hard, but he can’t really help himself. Helping was what he did, be it by helping her unwind, helping Theo out with his problems, or making a house call late at night, he loved knowing that he made someone’s life just a little easier.
When Adrian was finally able to open up his shop, he lucked out on the building. It had two shops and a couple apartments above each store, so when the couple that had the shop behind his moved to one of the other towns, Adrian convinced Lia to open up her shop beside his and move into the apartment across the hall. When he’s not with Lia or Theo, Adrian is in his shop, or making house calls around town. He likes to come up with new inventions and replicating things he’s seen in movies or on TV. Sometimes he can’t help but to just take things to give them an upgrade despite not being asked to beforehand. When Lia is finally able to get him to relax and leave his shop, he can usually be seen walking along the pier or the shore of Amphitrite Beach. He enjoys being near the water, and on a good day he might even go in, though usually that’s because Lia has made him.
Adrian is definitely a sweetheart when he really cares about someone. Even though he has a lot of friends, he’s still fairly reserved and sometimes considered a bad boy because of his strong and silent appearance. He’s very protective of his close friends and his family, biological and otherwise. He grew up at an early age, opting out of a lot of experiences as a teenager due to him helping out Amelia with raising her younger brother, Theo. While he skipped out on some things, Adrian still knows how to have a good time, and enjoys attending the various events held around town, be it a festival or a party. He’s kind of a pushover, but only when it comes to certain people. He’s never been good about saying no to a sad face, but opening up his shop and gaining experience with customer service helped him out with that issue, though he still can’t seem to say no to either Amelia or Theo’s sad face when they want something.
