It’s rarely brought up but Lovecraft has written many times that other gods exist within his mythos that aren’t Eldritch. The Olympian Gods exist, the Aztec Gods, Egyptian Gods. They’re all incredibly powerful beings, just as powerful as their own myths depict. Theirs some eldritch gods the earthly Gods don’t fear and theirs some that they actively run from. Whenever Nyarlethotep shows up the Egyptian Gods run for the hills because Nyarlethotep travels the world but he likes to visit Egypt and usually disguises himself as a joyful Egyptian man.

Poseidon doesn’t fear the Deep Ones or Dagon in the same way. It’s not like they come to blows or anything but they keep a respectful distance from each other. I like to think it’s like making sure your neighbor stays on their side of the fence.

All this to say I would love a game or story where the gods of the Earth join forces to punch Cuthulu in the face. He’s an extremely powerful being, but he needs blood sacrifice to keep his form in our plane of existence and if you make him bleed enough his avatar becomes unstable and vanishes. Cuthulu is canonically weak to sneak attacks and sucker punches.
