I remember speculating back when Chapter 2 hinted at the reasons behind Asgore's removal from Hometown's Police...

That it wasn't what led to his divorce from Toriel. That we're not doing a direct parallel behind the termination of their marriage in the 'Undertale' Universe (by having Asgore do a Very Bad Thing and Toriel leaving in moral outrage and disgust), but instead subverting it by going for something totally mundane and ordinary. And that actually, it's Asgore divorce came first and that led him to spiral down and lose his job.

And I've been thinking about this theory again after Chapter 3. With Tenna, who is on some level a stand-in for Asgore's Divorced Behavior in a similar fashion to how Queen was a stand-in for Carol's overcontrolling parenting, self-destructively tanking his show and his relationship with all of his employees in a desperate attempt to keep the Fun Gang and Toriel from leaving him...

Maybe there are some parallels there we're gonna learn about later...

turns out it was almost exactly like in Undertale. Asgore gets angry over a tragedy he had no control over, his anger and frustration tears apart his marriage as he tries to fix a problem after theirs no chance in fixing it. In Undertale he vowed to kill every human that entered the underground so he could break the barrier and destroy humanity. He regretted it after he said it but it was too late. In Deltarune Asgore looks for Dess and loses them in a Dark World, his obsession in trying to figure out what happened and to prove to everyone else that he was talking the truth ruined his relationship with his family. His emotions got the better of him in both scenarios. He's not a bad guy and he's very caring but the problem was that he cared too much.

Okay, can we talk about how Susie interacts with Orange for one second? Like, I see absolutely no one talking about these two, which definitely has some implications regarding Susie's past. Look here-

Susie had a whole thing about hiding her tail, right?

And it's clear that Susie is actually empathising with Orange with her situation.

And this one is the most interesting, because it seems the whole thing about "pretending to have the odd one fit in" clearly upset Susie here. Normally, Susie isn't someone that would resort to back to "beating up enemies" like in Ch 1, but its clear that she didn't like the direction of how things were going that she forces the group to act in this way.

We know that Kris' whole thing is about how they feel different from the rest of the town for being the only human in a town full of monsters, right? Orange seems to be a reflection of this, yet it's SUSIE, not Kris, who empathises with Orange the most here, out of all of the 7 Flowers. They even have a whole thing about them being HUNGRY when we first meet them, and Susie has food insecurity.

The whole hiding the tail thing, humans not having tails, Susie trying to reassure Orange that it's okay to be different.

Guys. Do you not realise what this is all implying?

That's why Susie was triggered when they tried to pretend to be a mouse to make Orange fit in. Because that's what happened to her. Susie says that those who usually tried to be friends with her often did it as a joke.

Holy shit.

Orange is a parallel to younger Susie just like how Aqua is a parallel to younger Kris. (And note that cyan and orange as considered opposites/complimentary in UTDR with the whole "moving vs staying still" mechanics of the two.)

There's also the fact that Orange is the one who ends up becoming besties with Pink. Pink being the Kris + Player parallel... Orange and Pink is Susie and Kris. oh my god.

I always figured she lived among humans. Hometown is a small country town and they tend to have a more concentrated population for a lack of better words. Susie strikes me as someone who came from the city especially with her story about a piano in the public area. Theirs also small moments you can miss if you don't have ears for it but Susie has a bit more of a... metropolitan way of talking. In a town full of monsters she talks more broadly than from the perspective of a monster. It's mentioned in early segments that in this world monsters still don't bleed because a kid asks Kris what it feels like to have blood in them and if it hurts. Susie has a very human centric phrase of "Everybody bleeds", and it puts HEAVY emphasis on the fact Susie can bleed. Combine that with her being embarrassed of her own tail with the possibility she's from a more mixed community than Hometown and theirs probably some very specific insecurities Susie has that no one in Hometown can relate to and Orange can.

Gaster and the nature of Omnipresence

after the punch card this I’m convinced that theirs a deeper connection to Undertale and a lot of people already figured it but I always felt the evidence was flimsy. Regardless it plays into a deeper point I want to make because if we accept whatever happens here, however it happens, will lead in some way to Undertale then we have to ask ourselves how Gaster is here as his current state is reliant on his moment in Undertale.

a little personal Lore but I’m a Christian- which is makes it odd I’m on Tumblr at all but that’s an entire other conversation. My point being is that my religion has a very similar question so I feel uniquely qualified to explain how I think this runs down. Because Gaster in effect made himself. To be Omnipresent means you are everywhere not just in a spacial sense or even a cosmic sense but realities above and beyond. Time becomes meaningless because you were, are and always was.

the Lore itself says so because Gaster is shattered across Time and Space. He’s everywhere and everywhen. Gaster is at the state he is now before he became what he will become. A living Ouroboros.

Given this is the case then where he is what he will be before he was it comes into play what his experiment actually is. What could a being who sees all possibly want to test? Simply put “can God make a stone he can’t lift” if he is Past, Present and Future can their be someone who can defy all possibility? Can a time you exist in be changed before your eyes? That’s where we come in, the anomaly, the player, the soul that can experience the present and change it in the past. Gaster was fascinated seeing us fight The Knight. He knows we are fated to lose yet is interested in the fact we do not consent to that fate. He sees out power grow in defiance and he wants to see the impossible happen.

Determination, the power to persist, the desire to change fate. Can pure will defeat Fate? Can God make a stone he can’t lift?

After the new chapter 5 Pink dialog I looked at the Spamton q&a and found some interesting things.

In my opinion, Spamtons puppetification is still the work of his benefactor. From the q&a (and addison dialogue) we know that he used to be an addison.

After his sales dropped, he became a puppet, he went into hiding from friend(s). That’s the reason for a black blazer and the glasses, but it made Swatch think Spamton was imitating him (from what I know only Swatch talks about people imitating his look).

Another interesting thing is the ask about pipis. It might seems that Spamton is saying that only he can call them eggs, but now id say he’s talking about how only friend would see pipis as eggs. Also “a white one, that’s surely another man’s treasure” is probably referring to the forgotten man?

While I was going crazy about this instead of sleeping I also thought about Pluey. Pluey looks a lot like friend, there’s a lot of interesting dialogue, I mainly remember Battat saying something about Pluey not taking the costume off, pink and yellow and thinking oh a friend. It makes me think that maybe Pluey could be in hiding as well… maybe having a connection to the original Mike (who probably went into hiding as well since he knew something about Spamtons benefactor (saying this because Mike warned Tenna about the contract)). But I haven’t had the time to actually look into it, but I think its really interesting and I wanted to throw this out there.

It also brings back into focus his dialogue in his shop. Because if you bring up friend he goes on a rant that darn near avoids the subject which then changes the subject to Knight and Spamton darn near has a PTSD breakdown where his text becomes normal for a moment he’s apologizing and begging to someone before saying saying “too many vacation days? Take a trip straight to hell!” Same thing happens when you bring up Fear and asks if anyone can hear him and help him.

I’m also almost certain now the dialogue in his boss fight is several things being said on top of each other one is the repeating of “I think it’s coming for me answer the phone” “I can’t tell you until you’re all alone” “it pulls the strings and makes them ring” “do you hear the ringing?” “Tell me, do you want to be a Big Shot?” Theirs one part in the middle that’s really garbled so I can’t make it out properly.

What does this mean?!

I’m obsessed with this image ever since Toby Fox showed it to us. I know this is important but I can’t prove it. This was a mural on a a scrapped piece of Undertale. Toby hasn’t been so quick to throw away old ideas so far and has repurposed a lot of them. This image feels endgame and prophetic. The fact nothing like this happens in Undertale tells me he had a different idea in mind at one point and it feels more grand than the personal story of Undertale.

what I see here is a Dragon fighting an Antlered Angel with the Delta Rune above them. Theirs been plenty of speculation of who exactly the Angel refers to but Noelle has a lot of Angel imagery about them. Then of course theirs the Dragon. Susie is the Dragon in Gersons Story and Susie herself frequently fantasizes about becoming a Giant Monster. I can’t begin to articulate the scenario that would have to happen for Susie and Noelle to fight to the death and as Apocalyptic Monsters no less. However I can’t imagine it being anyone else

Morals of Palworld

I've been fascinated by the actual story of the game now that it has a proper story. While it's easy to say it's a very immortal game with how you treat pals and other creatures. It actually speaks to important facts and a real world morals you can take away. The way you play is a moral choice but unlike other games with moral choices it refuses to hold them over your head. It's just how you interact with the world, it's not going to grandstand. You can be an abusive tyrant to Pals or you can work alongside them peacefully to make a better life. Now you may think to yourself "But you get those pals through fighting and catching them" and you're right. To counter this instinctual moral platitude we all have theirs the Pal Alliance led by Lily Everhart. They want to live peacefully with Pals and live the Vegan Utopia. However the game points it out in every way possible that this mentality is not only Naive but downright Arrogant.

As Human beings total coexistence with Pals is impossible. They have different needs, standards of living and different ways of being. For as much as you may love Pals they aren't people. Pals eat humans and other pals, some are outright hazardous either by nature or instinct. HOWEVER this doesn't mean we should ravage nature. You can't coexist but you can live in balance. Eat Pals if you want, plenty of pals do it already, treat them like people if you want. It's weird but nothing is stopping you, treat them like animals if you want, it's honestly getting closer to the truth if you do, or abuse them no one is stopping you. That's between you and your conscience.

The entire game reflect this because everyone has a unique relationship with Pals. The older generations treated them worse, younger generations treat them like friends more often, theirs some like Lily that envision a world like Pokemon even though a world like that is pretty much impossible in this setting. The Tower bosses have even more in depth relationships and even though I won't go over all of them I can give you a taste of what this game is going for. The first boss lived life with a broken family when she was little when her dad disappeared. A Castaway who washed up from a land far beyond gave her Wander Lust and she wanted to see the world. Her Pal protected her from bullies and anyone threatening to hurt her and in a very lonely point in her life he gave her confidence.

Lily was a bullied kid growing up and one day while walking through the berry fields she saw a Pal being attacked and without thought ran to protect her. From that point forward the two were inseparable and helped protect others both Human and Pal.

Then theirs the boss of the local Government keeping the law. He runs a drug ring, pushing drugs into communities and then turns around and busts the dealers with the help of his Pal. That way they can get the product back and get all the money while looking good. He talks about his Pal in a disparaging way but notices that for some reason his Pal never turns on him ever though he suspects that it one day will. He waves off the possible idea of genuine affection while still embracing an affectionate dynamic saying "We'll play house until it gets boring"

In just these three examples it's different relationships with Pals and none of them are framed as wrong. Some people have Pals to support them and protect them, some have Pals that they want to have a mutual partnership with and some simply want to be toxic together. This is how people are with animals in the real world too. Some have them as emotional support, some simply want someone to live with them, and others use them for labor. The Laborer may feel no affection towards the animal but they also might care just as much for it as anyone else but they try to stay professional.

The game presents to you an open ended questions and people who share every possible answer you might have to it. It's only request when interacting with Pals is "Remember, they're not people"

This puts some information into Perspective. Spamton ran away and went into hiding because Friend was after him. He’s being hunted down after the deal was broken and Spamton has been driven crazy looking for anyway to escape his fate and gain what he lost. We see Friend in the Basement when helping Spamton because we’ve been in contact with him.

Friend isn’t even a singular creature. Friend is many cats which is why when we get a full body look at Friend it looks like an Amalgam. It’s multiple piled into one. This is also why in the Eram fight theirs a swarm of Friend because theirs an endless wave coming after us. This is also why we keep seeing Friend. They’re stalking us like a cat who found new prey, hiding in the Dark and waiting for moments to strike. It was either our moment with Spamton or the fault of Eram but we now have a target on our backs for this cat.

it’s been said in the past but it bares to be repeated Battat once said “You see Pink and Gold and think “friend” just because they’re a friend doesn’t make them yours! It has teeth, you know!” Just because it’s called Friend doesn’t make it our Friend, it has teeth and it’s waiting to bite.

The Forbidden Path and the Twisted Roots

Weird Route is not the forbidden path, it has always been a path. Side B. In a game like this Pacifist and Genocide are two natural paths to take. It defies nothing, it is expected. I think The Sword Route in Chapter 3 doesn't reflect The Weird Route. It tells us about the Forbidden Path, the route to the Sword. In the second chapter we get a peak at a weapon that can't be gotten. A weapon that requires the Thorn Ring and a Pure Crystal. We know how to get the first part and so naturally everyone assumed the path to the Twisted Sword in in Weird Route but no. Seam is in Hometown and we need the Dark Crystals from Super Bosses to be purified. You cannot complete the path to the Pure Crystal in a Weird Route so the Twisted Sword remains out of reach. In a pure good route you cannot get the Thorn Ring. So How do you walk two paths? You walk a Twisted path, to Twist the Roots to get the Twisted Sword.

The Sword Route minigame tells us as much: The Forbidden Path started with Ice Magic.

We must use Noelle to achieve the ring. After we get the Ring Noelle is Used Up. We no longer need her. Take the Ring and walk the Path of a hero build up your power to seize the Crystals from the Bosses. Once you get the Ultimate Weapon for Kris, Kris is Used Up. The Twisted Sword has a status called Trance and in the data everyone is creeped out by it. I suspect that the Sword puts Kris fully under our power. With the Sword we defy the fate of Side A and Side B and build a path somewhere between. The path that shouldn't exist. The Forbidden Path, The Sword Route.

I don't know what waits for us on the Twisted Path but I suspect it will be Chaos.

Xenoverse 3: the Post-Goku world

I have to put this out there just because it’s been killing me and I know theirs not a super strong Dragonball fanbase on Tumblr but still. Toriyama wrote for this game and Xenoverse is also based on extended Lore Toriyama made nearly a decade ago now for an MMO.

Sayains are back in the future because of some good old Sayain biology. Sayains are naturally attract to strong mate. Either physically strong or strong in personality. It’s why Vegeta and Goku married Bulma and Chi-Chi. In another reality they would make decent Sayains. But as the bloodline of the Sayains spread throughout humanity the Sayain instinct also got spread. Eventually it would snowball where people with Sayain heritage would get together with others with Sayain blood. Over time this would concentrate until the Sayain race functionally came back.

The Majin Race (aka the Buu Race) came from Buu looking at Hercules Magazines fully of women. He started to feel lonely and wanted a wife of his own. So Buu would take one of his own Ribs and it would form into a female Buu personally crafted by himself that he would name Buubi. This new race of people could essentially reproduce asexually or with a partner if they felt like it which meant the Majin Race exploded over a short period of time because they had options when it came to having kids. It’s fortunate that Buu’s people inherited his happy nature however each of them can learn a forbidden Technique. Called Purification. If learned they can gain Incredible power at the cost of turning pure evil as the mind of Kid Buu rests in the soul of every Majin. Some can control it some can simply direct the destruction but it’s a dangerous transformation not freely taught.

At the time of the MMO a lot of things happen. Namakians take refuge on Earth after the equivalent of the Namakian Devil emerges on their planet. Theirs a soldier who discovers the remains of Frieza’s Tail that Krillin cut off. In it holds the Ki of Frieza and eating it have him the strength of Frieza. Towa and Mira first appear here and use this Tail and the Scatter Cells of Cell to make a monstrous fusion of the two. Fittingly this is also the origin of the Time Patrol as we stumble on random time rifts where we have to quietly make sure history follows its course. We also learn how Vegeta and Goku die. When they get old the elderly Sayain leave to train a solar system away. No one knows what happened during their training but Bulma observed that Solar System experienced a Supernova and the two Sayains never came back. It’s suspected that the two had one last fight with each other that resulted in the destruction of an entire Solar System.

On that note though many of the Z Warriors started their own schools and others upheld the schools that taught them their skills. Tien taught the Crane School of Martial Arts as well as his own techniques and same with Krillin and the Turtle School. Goku and Vegeta weren’t those kinds of teachers and would prefer to train students personally. This how many of the classic techniques are known to our player characters.

Age 1000 is 200 years after Goku and Vegeta die. They died in Age 801. Xenoverse 3 takes place in Age 852 and Xenoverse 1 in Age 850. They’re both already canonically dead by this point but only by about 50 years which is easy to forget because we encounter them often in the games

Going with the idea that the Dark Worlds reflect those who made them has given me a bunch of thoughts about the flowers and how they might reflect Kris.

Aqua: Kind of a no-brainer. Kris and Aqua look like genetic siblings and her whole deal is that she's a carefree knife enthusiast who's less "Hmph…" and more "Mwehehehe >:3", perhaps alluding to Kris as a younger child.

Seth: Kris is often calling the shots during the Fun Gang's fights, thus Seth's tactician persona.

Green: There's the obvious angle of them not saying much, but I think the more interesting angle is how Green is supporting every side in the Flower World conflict to some degree, kind of like how Kris is, what, a double or triple agent at this point?

Yellow: Definitely has the most viscerally unpleasant implications of this bunch. If he reflects Kris, it's likely because of something having to do with the December incident, to say nothing of how the Chapter 5 Weird Route plays out.

Blue: Also reflects Kris's ambiguous allegiances. I'm struggling to think of more than that, but given Kris's skills with the piano, they could have a more artistic side that Blue plays off of.

Orange: Her immaturity and insistence that she's human despite looking more like a mouse also feels like a reflection of Kris's childhood as a horn-wearing human. Her insisting that she's being picked on at certain points might also point to a certain sense of alienation as a human in a monster-majority town.

Flowery: It feels too easy to say Flowery is influenced by how Kris sees Asriel. Rather, I think Flowery would more likely reflect a persistent feeling of fakeness regarding how Kris has greased so many wheels with heavy input from the SOUL.

Flowery explains that since they're not Darkeners some rules don't apply to them. They're plants, living objects but they don't have the same presence as animals and people. Darkness changed their minds and elevated them to the level of a person. With that awareness they gained hope and dreams and those dreams gave them their bodies. Each of them became what they always wanted to be. Blue wanted to dance and spread love, yellow just wanted to be a cowboy like from Asgore's favorite show, aqua wanted to play with asgore, Green wanted to make food for Asgore, Seth wanted to be smart and helpful for Asgore, Orange wanted to be Brave and Strong for Asgore. Flowery had deeper motivations but in his own words he wanted to be Asgore's Best Friend and make him a new family.

I think Flowery was inspired by all the things Asgore told him about Asriel and wanted to embody the image Asgore painted of the kind man who could do anything.

I'm aware that this is the objectively wrong opinion, but I love Flowery dearly and would set Hometown aflame for him. Just saying. New favorite character. no such thing as an objectively wrong opinion. Flowery won me over near the end, he's still a jerk but he's not a monster. Flowery is the most Ride or Die man to ever live. He even said they would eventually die in the Dark World because Flowers need Sunlight but they would gladly die just to make Asgore happy. They did all of this because they wanted to thank Asgore for taking such good care of them and not letting them die a day later.

Flower Man is Asriel

Good now that I have your attention. The Flowers are an interesting twist because the mechanics behind them are particularly interesting. Flowery explains how it works but they’re not Darkeners but they’re not Lightners either. Plants are alive but they’re not the same as people or even animals. They have a different kind of mind and a different kind of intelligence. Even before entering the Dark World they could sense something unnatural happening in Hometown under the ground.

They remember everything that has happened to them but the darkness elevates their minds to a degree where they can act on it. Asgore talked to them constantly about his day and about his problems as a sort of therapy. He gets to vent at something that won’t talk back. This deeply affected them because they became sympathetic to his problems because not only was it sad but he was the man who kept them alive for years when they should have died after a single wedding.

Flowery mentions that when their minds were elevated they got to choose their appearance based on their wishes and dreams. So each one is not just a character design but a reflection of who they are. Aqua wanted the ability play and have fun, Seth learned about Berdly and determined he was the pinnacle of intelligence and wanted to be like him, Orange wanted to be brave and strong, Green wanted to make Asgore delicious meals, Blue wanted to dance and express his love, Yellow wanted to be a cowboy probably because of Asgore’s favorite show. And all of them wanted to be human because they wanted to replace Kris in Asgore’s life.

Flowery is different though and this comes to the clickbait tagline. Flowery is a Twink College Bro and Asriel left for college. That’s not the end of it though. Flowery more than anyone wanted to be the glue to form a new family for Asgore, he wanted to be the guy who says “you don’t need them, you have a better family now” Flowery wanted to be his Asriel and was everything he imagined Asriel was. The Golden Boy, the Smart One, the Sensitive One, the kid with so much going on that he could do anything. Asriel is such a perfect boy he could make friends with anyone and damn it, that Golden Boy could probably fly if he felt like it. That was the image Asgore probably painted.

On a meta level he’s practically a second draft of the Asriel Dreemur fight from Undertale complete with flying, a rainbow trail and pure anime vibes

Ralsei

So I think Ralsei might not be a Darkener at all. I still am not sold on him actually being Asriel yet but their were some things that move the needle in that direction for me. Flowery confirms for us that their is some grey area when it comes to Darkeners and Lighteners. Plants aren't objects, they're life yet they're not intelligent life. The Darkness elevates their minds and allows them to be more. They've never experienced life in the Dark World even before the Fountain unlike other beings we've encountered. Flowery also mentions that the mind of a Plant is vast an alien. They know something dark is happening under the town because they can sense a disturbance in the earth. That doesn't mean they know exactly what's happening just that it's unnatural.

Ralsei has a deeper understanding of the world than the Flowers but their is still that vast knowledge to deal with. Not to mention the Flowers actually have the power to choose their forms and they wanted to be humans because they wanted to replace Kris.

All this to say I think Ralsei looking like Asriel isn't an accident and Ralsei might be something else something that's not exactly a Darkener. Flowery knows Ralsei isn't who he says he is and Ralsei doesn't want him to explain it. Ralsei knows what he should be because if he isn't then the world might be destroyed and we can see his fire magic is more impressive than his ability to heal. To a scary degree as well.

Then theirs the fact Ralsei hides his face from Asgore. Whatever is going on he doesn't want Asgore to recognize him. When he loses his hat he hides behind us or dives into bushes. If looking like Asriel wasn't suspicious enough, why does he feel the need to hide from people who would know Asriel? I have no answers but these points of data are forming a line and a picture is emerging
