first kisses ? (｡>\\<)

fayehill's first kiss is one that is long overdue. they both spend months (perhaps years) pining for each other without even realizing it's mutual. both are oblivious to the other's stolen glances, bated breath, and uncharacteristically timid hands; too caught up in their own heads and feelings to catch on. there are various reasons on both sides for their hesitation and reluctance to believe that anything could ever happen between them, but faye is the first to cast her worries aside when she realizes she'd regret it if this opportunity passed her by. which is a big step for her because she was convinced love just wasn't meant for her in this life !!

one night, while out for a drink (they do this fairly often), faye finally confesses her feelings to her cowboy. he responds by admitting to her that he'd been "wanting her to want him for a long time," and they just keep getting closer and closer to each other until boothill asks for permission to kiss her. the culmination of all their yearning jam packed into a single kiss, except they can't get enough of it and decide to drown in each other instead.

fayeveil have an easier go of things and realize their feelings for each other much sooner than the former (it's probably due to the fact that faye has already entered the world of the galaxy rangers, so ashveil wouldn't feel guilty about potentially endangering her, and faye wouldn't feel like she's derailing his goals). their first kiss happens after faye learns first hand what one of his episodes is like, and much like in this pic, she rushes to his aid, wiping away his blood and sweat while kissing into his hair.

it's super melancholic as faye realizes how much she loves him and wishes she could shield him from the pain. but ashveil would never want to risk her safety just for his own comfort, so he sits there in apologetic silence, breathing heavily from exhaustion as he tries to recover himself.

I just had a funny little thought: you remember back as recent as early January when Ashveil's silhouette was first teased and we weren't even sure if it was just Boothill with a different hat and later we thought that Ashy was a bit sus and you were ready to beat him senseless with rocks, wrenches, hammers and lastly a shovel to bury him with if he ended up being a traitor to the Galaxy Rangers?

And now? He's bae #2 and I wonder how quick, or slow, Faye is to warm up to the flashy detective in comparison after her initial gut feelings about his shadow wears off?

you must be a mind reader because i've actually been thinking and laughing about this too (ᵕ⸝⸝• ᴗ •) like i genuinely feel so bad for my initial reaction to him aaauughhh i'm so sorry wolfie !! but it is so crazy to me that i had little to no interest in him at the start and now... well !! i guess i'm just relieved that i got the wrong read on him, and that he's actually such a tragic sweetheart

faye's fear dissipated rather quickly because he's immediately apologetic after realizing that he accepted her handshake with his shadow hand, it's almost comedic how embarrassed he is to have made the mistake. her initial perception of him was entirely skewed by the shadow's influence since it's her first time encountering the voracity, but then it's completely flipped on its head when he apologizes to her profusely. he's bowing his head and doing that cute little nervous laugh, and he's got this hurt puppy look in his eyes. she gets a bit of whiplash from it all and is left utterly confused by the time they part ways. boothill will have to answer all her questions once they've returned to their lodging. when they do end up becoming partners, faye will be the one apologizing to ashveil

behold,, my alternate ship names

fayehill -> soulsilver 𓈒 they’re soulmates, and they both have very strong, individual souls that define them as people. even before meeting each other, their lives were already deeply entwined with metal; one works with it daily and the other is made almost entirely of the substance. together they shine like polished silver.

fayeveil -> omamoriwolf 𓈒 omamori are japanese talismans or charms worn to bring various forms of good luck and protection; both of them have some type of omamori on their person at all times. and of course 'wolf' for my dearest wolfie. and perhaps they are both omamori in their own right since they care deeply about the safety and well-being of others.

ashfayehill -> armoredfangs 𓈒 all three of them are very guarded people, and even more so when faye uses her skills in combat to provide everyone with impenetrable shields. fangs are a wolf's most vital weapon, and all three of them, as galaxy rangers, are the fangs that have been made stronger through their union.
