Movie nights have become Ace's favorite days, only because he can do as he pleases in Ramshackle.
After making sure you were too absorbed in the movie to seek him out, Ace gave you a quick warning that he was going to the bathroom, you giving him a nod of acknowledgement without looking in his direction. But as he walked the path to the bathroom closest to your room, he made a sharp turn to stop before the door of your bedroom.
Getting on his tip toes, Ace did his best to cover your door with his scent, from the top to the bottom, rubbing his cheeks on the wood.
He only stopped when your door smelled undoubtedly of him, smirking when your bedroom gave the feeling of an omega owning it. When he was sure his scent wouldn't fade quickly, Ace made his way back to you.

When both of you decide to retire for the night - Ace grumbling as you tried to brush his head off your shoulder, only quiescing when you compromised and let him sleep in the same bed as you - you stopped mid-step before your door, giving Ace a knowing look.
“What? Too scared to enter your own bedroom?” Ace teased, moving to stand between you and the door, opening it and stepping to the side, waiting for you to enter first, “Or are you too scared of monsters, need me to protect you?”
You only shook your head and sighed, used to the omega's antics “Must've been the wind.”
Ace, satisfied, walked behind you.
Now he only needed to make sure your sheets, pillows and blankets smelled of him.

By the next week, Ace left his toothbrush alongside yours.
He opened the cabinets, hiding some of his scent patches and vitamins inside. Anything an omega would need on a daily basis was there, behind your own belongings. Ace hoped you wouldn't notice his silent scheme.
His older brother, an alpha, never noticed when things were moved around the house or when objects were replaced, his mother would say “Just like any other alpha". Therefore, Ace has preconceptions about alphas and their lack of perception even in their own territory.
Looking at your towel draped behind the bathroom door, he wondered if it would be too much to let one of his spares in your home too.
Well, it's not like I don't spend so many nights sleeping here, it's becoming a hassle to fit a towel in my bag.
Decidedly, he hung his towel with yours. It's not like you would care either way.

Ace became bolder over time.
Little by little, he was putting his nesting materials in your home. Living with three roommates was a nuisance, his inner omega never finding solace to properly nest. It was entirely different when in Ramshackle.
The whole environment smelled like you, an alpha he trusted blindly. Even with some parts of the roof being broken, or the cracks on the walls, Ace has never felt more warmth in his life.
He chose one of the empty bedrooms to be his nesting room, filling the wardrobes with everything his nest might need and even more, stealing some of your hoodies from your closet.
Strangely, even though he was the only one who used this room, he felt the walls were slowly getting fixed, and heaters appearing in places he remembered were empty before.
Ace stopped in the middle of his nesting room to look around for a moment, wondering what could've caused the sudden change. But after deep contemplation, he decided his concerns weren't real and was all a creation of his head, too worried about a single change in his new safe place.
Now, Ace only pondered if he should also bring some clothes of his or if he should just keep stealing yours.

“Do you lack fashion sense?”
Ace pushed Grim aside from the couch, the beast releasing a loud MHRAAW and almost swatting Ace if you hadn't picked him up. “Henchman, release me! Let me teach him to never underestimate the great made Grim!”
But you only ignored him and forced him to go to the kitchen - if he eats all the tune cans out of stress, it's a problem for future you. “So what do you suggest?” you asked when he got rid of a brownish gray cushion.
“Red, let's make all this room red and white.” Ace only stopped fussing when he realized you're looking at him thoughtfully, cushion still in your hands, completely still. “What? Grim stole your tongue?”
“You're one step away from just moving in.” You voiced, settling down the cushion on the coffee table.
Ace's “You wish!” got stuck in his throat. Because he wished. Even when he usually would have no problem just spewing things, in this situation he wasn't able to, because he wanted to move in with you.
He felt as if his inner omega was bristling and shivering, teeth aching to lock both you and him in his nesting room.
“As if Riddle would let me, he has been up my ass recently saying I shouldn't be sleeping here that much when we aren't married,” he settled for, his housewarden almost collaring him any time he escaped Heartslabyul grounds, screaming about improperty.
“Hm, maybe he has a point,” you said reflectively, “Ramshackle is looking like the home of a mated couple.”
Ace felt like his heart stopped briefly, you noticed. And he thought he was being so subtle when transferring his belongings to your dorm, laughing behind your back when you passed directly by any changes he had made in your home.
“How did- What are you talking about?!” his voice strangled.
“Ace, you literally left cards on my bedside table, Ramshackle as a whole smells like you, how wouldn't I notice?”
“I forgot my cards, it was an accident." He tried to justify, knowing it would be fruitless “And considering how much time I spend here, it would be weird as hell if ramshackle didn't smell like me.”
“Really, so what about the nesting room beside my own bedroom?” you raised an eyebrow, and Ace had no comeback for your argument.
“An omega deserves a restful place.” he murmured grumply.
You chuckled in a lightful manner, bringing your hands to cup his face. “I don't mind you moving your things here, but Riddle and Trey are one strand of hair away from giving me the shovel talk.” softly, you muttered, thumbs tracing his bone cheeks. "Tell me what you want to eat for the next week, I'm about to leave for grocery shopping.”
Ace kept staring right into your eyes, cheeks slowly, steadily turning pink. His mind was left in the past, still processing you're fine with him living in your territory, your den. Ace's mouth, who usually acted before he thought better, was completely silenced, lacking any smart retorts the omega usually had in the tip of his sharp tongue.
“Stop, I need… recovery time.” Ace was defeated. He'll find a way to fluster you back pretty soon, he promises.
