Well, would you look at that? If it isn't the MONSTER itself! How does it feel knowing no one even wants you enough to keep you as a PET? You're hardly even a THING! Should have been kept in a cage, really. Disgusting. Useless. Unlovable. You should be Loki, God of Emptiness, since all you are is a hole to fill and an easy way to kill time.
Loki kneels in the centre of his (but it’s not really his, is it?) bedroom, his hands clasped very tightly in his lap, his head bowed, his eyes asTIGHTLY SHUT as he can possibly find them. The words, echoing andhazy, black and heavy upon the air, echo from one side of his skull tothe other, and Loki is shaking visibly, his fingernails digging crescentshapes into his scarred palms, his breaths hitching and catching in hisdesperate throat.
And aren’t the words, filthy and angry and bitter as they are, true? Aren’tthey full to the brim with REALITY, with veracity?
Because Loki is here, alone.
If the Grandmaster has not yet tired of him, he soon will, and where willLoki be, then? But a toy, even? But an unfavoured object?
Loki’s eyes burn with unshed tears, but he sheds them not, and insteadbends yet lower, pressing his face as tightly as he can to his palms, digging his fingernails into the greasy, ugly threads of his hair: this isthe smallest he can make himself, without entirely TRANSFORMING,and yet it is not nearly so small as he feels.
