A World Made Smaller | Jieun and Kyuhyun
The inland river of Navigli was actually quite intimidating - looking down upon it, it wouldn't have surprised Kyuhyun in the least if someone were to die aside by drowning in the dark turquoise water that threatened his being like the never-ending prospect of a bottomless pit. He let out a small sound of discomfort, immediately lifting his head to survey the less attainable (and far less frightening) view of the pastoral sky.
Seoul was nothing like Jeonjin - when Kyuhyun first came to Italy however, he felt like he had stepped into another world. There was a warmth in Milan that was never seen in his home town - the wear of the archaic buildings and the translucent cracks of the pavement held an honest countenance as opposed to the rather heartless allure of his technologically paramount home.
Looking down at his slightly tattered travel guide, he let out a small laugh - the pictures of the tourist attractions didn't nearly give the city the credibility it so desperately deserved. With a small affirmed nod, it was confirmed:
"Ah, I definitely chose the right place to take a holiday." He stated to himself, softly muttering in his native tongue before placing his guide away from the harsh elements.
Kyuhyun wanted to visit Milan ever since walking past one of the billboards in Seoul Station. He managed to see comeliness in the distance of a mere 20 metres - words could never describe the beauty of the landscape Kyuhyun laid his eyes upon. In the bottom left hand corner, all it read was "Discover Milan"; the sublime of this billboard was enough to fuel his inhibitions... It was only now however, did he decide to save up for the trip as he did not wish to ask his father for money.
It wasn't all it was cracked up to be however, visiting a place so alien to him - Only last night, Kyuhyun was inflicted with the most horrific form of deja vu upon his 21 years of living. Just as he exited one of the town's pubs, a shady male cornered him and held a knife to his neck. The rush of that rainy day and the image of Choi Junhee's pocket knife rendered his body in a unforgiving state of paralysis. Unable to use his taekwondo, he merely cowered under his unnaturally towering stature. He didn't think he would have gotten out of the situation as easily as he did, but a hasty push left the drunken male staggering to get back to his feet. Kyuhyun couldn't recall the last time he ran as fast as he did on that night.
A small shudder escaped him upon recollection of it. He had only hoped the Darnsa, with its multitude of people would protect him from such dangers. With a wondrous gaze, he walked into the street markets - maybe he could find something worth buying.
