unpopular opinion: saying there needs to be More Angst to omgcp is crusty and dumb.

you can write a good and fulfilling comic without making your characters miserable. you can write happy lgbt+ stories without the constant drama or fear of that happiness being taken away.

omgcp is so well written, drawn, and presented. its like there is this loud chunk of the fandom who refuse to have a different story and different experience for their comics. there is so much depth and realistic writing that they sleep on.

i don't wanna stake a claim on a whole fucking comic but can y'all let gay people have a healthy and happy comic???? ngozi is such an amazing story teller and artist; she has grown so much since starting. so honestly?? i love that bitty's story is happy and it is going to be a happy ending.

ok one thing that makes me kinda uncomfy about the omgcp fandom is the headcanon of ransom only ever dating blondes. Why? because it sorta implies that ransom only really dates white ppl, and as a Black girl, seeing a Black man only (ultra emphasis on only) date outside of his race makes me quite uncomfortable. Don’t get me wrong, I know that poc can have blonde hair, but thats really rare, naturally or unnaturally. At the end of the day, blonde hair is a predominantly european feature, and it being a preference is kinda weird.

unpopular opinion: suzanne bittle is a good mom and loves her son.

another unpopular opinion: coach is a good dad and loves his son.

super unpopular opinion: they are good and loving parents who love their son.

mega ultra unpopular opinion: just because they're from georgia doesn't mean they're going to disown him, hate him, or try to send him to fucking c*nversion therapy. believe it or not, there are non-homophobic parents out there and ones who aren't abusive!!!!

super duper ultra mega unpopular opinion: wanting to be hopeful or optimistic or even relating to this story in your own sense and just having a gut feeling this will be okay doesn't make you naive or anything. ngozi wanting a happy ending and a happy story is the strongest fucking thing an author can do and wanting homophobic shit for drama sake isn't cool

I never really bought the interpretation the Kent was threatening to out Jack since the comment comes After Jack tell Kent to stay away from his team. To me the comment was more an angry "What? Why? Do you think I'm some sort of baby eater" Like if I got into an argument with a friend and they were like "Stay away from my cat" and I responded with "Omg what are you scared I going to kick her off a cliff"

Yeah, exactly. Even though Jack may have needed to cut Kent out of his life after the draft for his own mental health, I don’t think he ever articulated the reason why to Kent. I mean he’s historically been not good at communication, at least before he started dating Bitty. So "Why? Afraid I’ll tell them something?” is Kent trying to understand why, and Jack being closeted is the only logical explanation Kent can think of for why he would deserve this punishment.

Also, being closeted might actually have been a factor in Jack’s mind? Jack wasn’t out as bisexual to anyone while at Samwell, not even his best friend Shitty. And he doesn’t come out to his friends when dating Bitty until Bitty has a breakdown and asks him to. Which means Jack planned to never come out to anyone??? Ever??? Jack’s reasons for shutting out Kent run much deeper than this, but there may have been an element of truth to Kent’s question after all.

me, thinking about all the anti parsers who claim kent threatened to out jack at epikegster but now say that jack doesn't owe kent anything so there's nothing wrong with not warning him before outing him by association even tho being outed w/o consent is a major fear of every lgbt person ever: hmm...

me: also thinking about how bc of where jack was mentally in the Q he probably was very scared of being outed or coming out, and when kent says "why, afraid i'll tell them something?" the subtext is he thinks jack is shutting him out bc he plans to play it straight (literally) from now on and wants to hide their history from his samwell friends, but after kent sees The Zimbits Kiss he realizes the problem was never that they're both men, it was just him :/
