In case you didn’t know what OMGPop was, it was basically an independent flash player game studio that was designed GODS that saved the era of Millenials that lived off of this website (just kidding, I’m not sure who was involved in designing the website, but I can assure you, they are gods. Basically, there were a ton of interactive FREE metagames, which you might have heard of, such as Balloono (similar to Bomber Man), Draw My Thing (Pictionary), Uno, and many MANY more. However, towards 2012-2013, OMGPop was acquired and purchased by Zynga, Inc, which is also an online gaming browser, but it’s...not as fun and does not have the same perks as you would when OMGPop was independent.
OMGPop had let you design your own character, receive certain medals for accomplishments, and interact in the chatbox! Overall, it was a tremendous online gaming platform that was perfect when I was in high school. It also would have been PERFECT during this quarantine time, but unfortunately, it’s gone. Or so I thought! I was looking around on Google for games to play for free and I stumbled upon a website called “omgmobc.com”, which is EXACTLY WHAT YOU’RE THINKING RIGHT NOW. It’s essentially a revived version of OMGPop!!!!
The above picture is what the layout is like, and even though I can’t show you what the original OMGPop layout was entirely like (you can refer to the first picture for some detail), I can tell you they’re pretty different. OMGPop was very well coded and organized, but honestly, I’m just happy that these games are back. I guess some people got together and managed to retrieve the old games from the old OMGPop game and make it into a new website! It’s a little sketchy-looking and not very user-friendly, but it’s also not that hard to learn. You can start your own gaming room by clicking on any of the games on the left column OR you can join other random people in their gaming rooms by clicking the rectangular section they’re in. The silhouette of the character that is on the right of the rectangular section corresponds to what game they’re playing.
Anyways, it’s a super fun website to play mini-games and I highly suggest it during this time! You can link your friends and they can join in! All you have to do is make an account, or I don’t think you have to, but if you do, they don’t spam your email at all. Just use a burner email just in case though.
Here is the link again: omgmobc.com
Happy gaming and I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!
His name is Luis (@sidewayssquare) and we met on OMGPOP in April 2012. He’s been there for me through everything.. (two break ups, two car accidents, my anxiety and depression, my accomplishments and success, and he’s seen me gross-cry plenty of times) yet he’s decided to stay. We’ve known each other for five years, and have been together for a little over one year, and we met for the first time this past weekend.
Just over over the weekend of Friday (July 21, 2017) - Tuesday (July 25, 2017) he flew from Hawaii over to Vegas to visit me. We hung out for three days straight, and it was the best three-day weekend I’ve ever had. So many memorable things have happened, and so many pictures and videos have been taken.
Our relationship has been messy, because I, in no way, have made it easy, but despite all of the hardships, we found each other again, and now I believe we’re here to stay. Now he’s planning on moving here within the next year or so 😊❤️
In 2012, we met, and we were only talking on OMGPOP.
In 2013, we added each other on Skype.
In 2014, we started talking to each other everyday.
In 2015, we started voice/video calling.
In 2016, we told each other how we felt, and established our relationship.
Now, in 2017, we’ve met for the first time.
And I can’t wait to see where 2018, 2019, and ultimately, the future will take us.
Online, and long distance relationships work.Trust me.
