For today’s Blackwatch Reprisal content, I present the finalized concept for Mokoto Koyorin, the Omniblade.

Now, obviously she’s a updated recycling of the original character concept that became Sombra, and (hopefully) you can see hints of that core concept in this design. But in order to make her my character, I leaned heavily into the techwear/cyberpunk/street ninja aesthetics.

This new Omniblade has a pair of mechanical arms slung onto her shoulders allowing her to swing four swords at once. All the better to hunt down and oppose members of her rival clan, the Shamada’s.

Her name is a reference to The Major from Ghost in the Shell, which is my go-to for distopian cyberpunk anime. And also a rad artist I found scrolling google looking for images. Seriously, I don’t know if they have a tumblr, but Koyorin is a spectacular artist with a lot or really neat stuff. The oni mask is a reference to their work.
