SO! This is nowhere near as awesome as @cjs-scribbles's origin comic, but I thought I'd add on to the story by delving a little deeper into what happened to Courtney as a result of Ben becoming the Omnitrix. A little while after the battle, she decides to go to Zennith (who is luckily in contact through the Neotrix) to find out what the problem is, though finding her will take a couple of years, which means some time away from the team. On an unrelated note, I'm gonna be shipping queerplatonic CourBen in this AU and NO ONE CAN STOP ME

basically ben sacrificed himself and he's on the brink of death, but omnitrix desperately trying to save it's host life so it fuses with him 🤷‍♀️

he would joke about his near death sometimes, he's probably traumatized by it so he hides it with humor

honestly I like the idea of ben not using all of the alien's dna just, kinda like rex's powers but with alien dna to not using all of his energy is just an interesting concept and actually has more reason and less annoying than the omnitrix not giving him the right aliens

also the more powerful the aliens the more energy he'll consume and using them would have more impact imo

also ben being an omnitrix itself is pretty cool, something like eunice

I really like @hiffuu's omnitrix ben! au so I pretty much made it into my own canon, I like the idea of partially transforming some aliens, he's basically rex but with aliens instead of weapons

he's probably traumatized from his near brick of death

My first fanart for @cjs-scribbles's Omnitrix!Ben AU! Tried to make it look tender but It's s**ty as f**k XD It looked better in my head.

So, here's the Courtney of that universe! (My OC and Ben's best friend, for those who are new to this blog) In this timeline, since the Omnitrix and Neotrix (sister device to the Omnitrix, for new people) are connected, Ben becoming the Omnitrix had unpredicted side effects on Courtney (as seen as all the wires and fibres on her neck). Since the Neotrix was created by Zennith, Albedo's ex-mate, only she could know what's happening, so they send Courtney to her for a long time. The diagnosis is actually pretty sad: since Courtney hasn't become the Neotrix in a similar manner to Ben's case, the link to the Omnitrix affects her human body in a lethal way, to the point where it'll eventually take over her vital systems and kill her. (So basically like Omnitrix cancer). I'd like to think these two haven't seen each other since they were 16, so being reunited at 21 would be really bittersweet, considering Zennith's diagnosis is that Courtney will get a little closer to death each time Ben uses his new powers. I thought it'd make their relationship a little more angsty compelling.
