This week was a pony-kind of week. I had pole and dressage lessons on Lipton. During the pole lesson I was more off-balance posting the trot than last time, but at least we got the canter rolling better. The dressage lesson later in the week went surprisingly well and I was able to center myself more.

Muddy boy heading to a jump lesson.

Today I jumped for the first time since falling after a fence and fracturing a vertebra in winter. I was a little nervous, but it went well. We started with trot poles on a long rein and then without reins to work on my balance and turning with my seat and leg aids. Then we progressed to canter poles and finished with baby verticals. Next time I hope I'll have the right mind set to jump more,

Throwback to spring and searching for grass with Omppu, my favorite lesson horse. Now that pasture season is over, we're back to searching for grass in the dark autumn evenings.
