In your days at RAD, when you and Lucifer began flirting, and all throughout your relationship, you had a sweet little morning routine. Before breakfast, before coffee, before either of you were truly awake; you would fuss with the collar of his shirt, and he would straighten out your bedhead.
You always felt his gaze upon you, as most can. In this instance, however, it wasn't cold and foreboding: this time, it was warm, familiar, welcome.
Most often, when you would look up at him, wanting to see it for yourself, he was already looking away. Occasionally, though, his eyes would linger. His expression was nothing short of reverent and tender; his scarlet eyes, still lax from sleep, fixated on your face, the corners of his lips just barely turned up, his cheeks painted a soft, dusty pink just barely perceptible in the dim morning hours. In his eyes was always the slightest glimmer, one reserved only for you, one that others believed to have disappeared since the Celestial War.
It took one long day and a glass or two—or three, or four—of demonus for him to confess that, when you first began that little routine of yours, his eyes were graced by a tear or two, for the first time in millenia.
A few years came and went, and this morning routine stayed the same, from August to June, every school year, until graduation.
The summer flew by, and school began once again; but, this time, you would not be going.
That first day, something dawned upon the both of you, which you had never thought of before: what would you do with yourselves, if not get ready for classes together?
Time deceived you; summer ended, but autumn never began.
It was pleasant, at first. You had more than enough time to spend waking up at your own pace, getting ready in the quiet solitude of the morning—a welcome change from rushing around, sleep deprived after nights spent studying. A new chapter in your lives has never felt so welcome, so refreshing.
At least, at first.
New jobs, new schedules, it was exciting—truly, it was. Now, though, you mostly saw each other in passing. You managed to squeeze in coffee and a good morning kiss, but responsibilities pulled you away far too soon.
Half a year after graduating and one heart wrenching scandal later, the two of you, few up with all that kept you apart, got engaged, and even moved out. Lucifer stepped down from his position as first consul.
Now unemployed (for the time being, at least), he spends much more time at your new home. With this new chapter, came a new routine.
Mornings are spent waking up in each other's arms to the sound of your soft breaths as they sync, the feeling of soft kisses on your forehead, eyelids, nose, and lips. There is no better alarm than the sound of his low, silken voice murmuring, "Good morning, beloved." The bass of his voice vibrates in his chest and travels through your body like the rumble of thunder rolling through the sky.
When you can't spend the morning in each other's arms, you still try your best to stay close: walking together to brush your teeth and freshen up, holding hands and descending the stairs together, sitting across from one another as you drink your coffee, savoring the serenity of a quiet morning spend together.
Before you leave, you fix his bedhead and smooth out any stray hairs, as he kisses the syrup off your cheek and straightens out your collar and tie.
It's something new, but something familiar. Perhaps, things aren't so different after all.
(Diavolo) There you are, MC. I was looking for you. I know this is rather sudden, but would you happen to be free tomorrow?
(MC) I sure am!
(Diavolo) That's wonderful! I'll be traveling to the human world for a meeting that I have to attend. I'd love it if you could join me.
(MC) of course, I'd be happy to!
(Diavolo) Thank you, I was hoping you'd say that. I'll come pick you up at the House of Lamentation, so please be waiting and ready to go.
(Change from RAD Cafeteria to House of Lamentation Foyer)
(Diavolo) I've come to get you, MC. Ah, and I see that you're all ready to go. Er, I realized that I forgot to properly explain what it is we'll be doing today, though. My impending meeting is with the Three-Legged Crow Leisure Land's summer committee.
(MC) Is it really okay for me to be sitting in on it?
(Diavolo) Of course! Or rather, I'd very much like for you to. I appreciate your input.
(MC) Can we go do something fun after?
(Diavolo) Of course! Actually, why don't we go visit the park? We can tour whichever area you'd like before going home. I'll do my best to make this meeting run as efficiently as possible, in order to maximize our time together. Well then, shall we get going?
PART TWO
(Human World Park)
(Diavolo) We still have plenty of time before the meeting, so why don't we take the scenic route to the office. While this meeting was thrown together in a slight hurry... Strolling through scenery that's different than usual tends to lead to bouts of inspiration.
(MC) Have you got a rough idea of what the plans are?
(Diavolo) Er, actually... no. Which is posing a bit of a problem. I'd like it to be a bright and joyful event, since it's for summer. I was hoping to have some ideas ready to present, so the meeting could be more productive, but... Well, that's easier said than done. I haven't struck on anything that particularly stands out.
(Diavolo) ...Goodness, it's gotten much cloudier. Are we about to get rained on? Ah, and here it comes... Hm? The rain, it's...
(MC) There's magic in it!
(Diavolo) Indeed. Though, that's rather surprising. Rainbow-colored rain... Well, that has to be related to the magic within it. Thankfully, only magically inclined humans would notice a difference. We can sort this out now, and they'll be none the wiser.
(MC) Do you know what's causing it?
(Diavolo) Yes. Well, mostly. I couldn't say with absolute certainty, but I have a fairly good idea. While it isn't inherently dangerous, it's not something we can leave alone, either. If I'm right, the source of this rain ought to be in the nearby ocean. If you'll give me a moment, I'll go ahead and get in touch with Solomon.
(Diavolo) There, that should solve that issue. Now then, we ought to... Oh! MC, I think I've got it! Ah, but we can't stay here. Come on, to the Three-Legged Crow Leisure Land!
PART THREE
(Human World resort area idk what to call this man its the fountain with a city in the background ╥﹏╥)
(Diavolo) Seeing that multicolored scenery just gave me the best idea. I couldn't bear to dawdle. I was thinking that rainbows could be the perfect summer theme.
(MC) That would make for some great pictures!
(Diavolo) Yes, I was hoping that the event could be driven by a desire to upload beautiful pictures to social media. But, the more concrete of an idea I have before the meeting, the better. For instance, if we had rainbow-themed decorations at the entrance to the aquarium here...
(Diavolo) Ah, but we would need some sort of focal point if we really want to get crowds of visitors. The pool will be open for summer, so perhaps some sort of new attraction there?
(MC) What about a water slide?
(Diavolo) That's a great idea! Plus, it could be rainbow-colored, to fit the theme! I'd love to have it feel as if you were gliding down a real one, so perhaps the shape could also guide that.
(Diavolo) Thanks to your suggestions, I think I've figured out just what this event needs. That being said, I don't suppose you have any others?
(MC) Rainbow illuminations?
(Diavolo) Ah, true. There are the evening displays to consider. If they're done well, that would absolutely increase the visitor count. Oh, and there should be limited-edition souvenirs as well. It would be easy enough to have rainbow-colored hats, towels, and sunglasses, for example.
(Fade to black)
(Diavolo) Wonderful! This should be plently to dicuss for today... Oh, shoot. I got so wrapped up in thought that I completely lost track of time. The meeting's about to start. We'd better hurry, MC!
(Change location to Office interior)
(Diavolo) All in all, I think that was very productive meeting. Having idea's to present right from the get-go made everything go that much more smoothly too. Thank you, MC.
(Diavolo) Now, then... what should we do now? Since we wrapped up early, we still have plenty of time to spare.
(MC) I could go for a snack.
(Diavolo) I'm feeling a little hungry, myself. That shop over there looks like it might fit the bill.
(Change location to traditional Japanese restaurant)
(Diavolo) Ah... The matcha tea here is lovely enough on its own, but the sweets paired with it are perfect. Haha! The look on your face says that you couldn't agree more. I suppose this place was the right choice after all. Though I wasn't expecting it to get this busy in here.
(MC) It's not exactly the best place for a little alone time, huh?
(Diavolo) Exactly. It wouldn't do to take up a table here, either. Since it's not every day that we get some time for ourselves, it would be better to head somewhere a little less crowded... Ah, I think I know the place. MC, would you mind following me?
PART FOUR
(Change location to nighttime human world resort pool)
(Diavolo) Since the pool hasn't opened for the season yet, we've got the entire place to ourselves.
(MC) It's a shame it's still too cold to go swimming, though.
(Diavolo) Well, if we left things to nature, at least. But, with a simple spell... There, that should have made it warm enough to swim in without worry. Plus, one more thing.
(Screen flashes with the white magic effect and background turns on pink/purple party lights)
(Diavolo) A prototype of the water slide that will more than likely make an appearance at the summer event.
(MC) It's so cute!
(Diavolo) Well, it's what we'd both discussed before. But, it turned out quite nicely, didn't it? Since neither one of us packed a swimsuit, let me make one more adjustment. There, now we can use the pool without getting wet. We're all ready to go! Though, perhaps I should try the slide first. Just to be sure.
(Screen shakes and plays splash sound)
(Diavolo) ...Wonderful! It's perfectly thrilling! I'm certain this will be the pinnacle of the summer event. You should go next, MC. It's perfectly fine to use.
(MC) Slide with wild abandon.
(Screen shakes and plays splash sound)
(Diavolo) Haha! You didn't even bat an eye at that slide. You've got courage in spades. While the most important thing is that you're enjoying yourself... you're shivering. Was it the wind as the top of the water slide that got you? Anyway, we'd better get you warmed up. Do you have any preferences?
(MC) I'd love a kiss.
(Diavolo) Well! I wasn't expecting you to ask for something like that at a time like this. But, of course, I'd be happy to oblige. After all, not a single moment goes by where I don't want to kiss you.
(Screen flashes black)
(Diavolo) *chuckle* You certainly feel a little warmer now. Is that the kiss taking effect? It's definitely making me feel flushed.
(Screen flashes black) <- why so manyyyyyy
(Diavolo) I would have liked to stay and play longer, now that we're warmed up again, but... Rather unfortunately, the pool is going to be closing soon. We'll have to get out. Since we're already here, I was thinking of scouting out the aquarium, too. I've already asked the staff for permission. I'd be thrilled if you'd be so kind as to accompany me for a little while longer, MC.
Okiii so Death Do Us Part thoughts!! Spoilers under cut obviously <3
Sooo. I've finished Belphie chapter 1, and half of Satan's. The writing seems familiar to the series, and everyone seems in character so far! I'm enjoying the art style too. I wasn't so certain about it to begin with, but it reminds me of the anime they used to run!
The plot DOES feel a little rushed. It feels like being thrown into something random at every turn, but I don't hate it. The OG and NB had the same issues, I would have jumped ship a long time ago if I cared that much. But I REALLY like that they're bringing back the Yan belphie!! First chapter in and he's already trying to kidnap mc ;; that's my boy <3
I don't think this game is going to be groundbreaking in any way, I actually preferred the older style of NB to this and miss the minigames. But I don't dislike it either! Overall, I'm looking forward to the plot and dateables to be added!!
so for anyone looking to pull a shelf maneuver like I did, that needs to be the last thing you do!! The collision they made for this is absurd. If you put the shelf down, you can't put anything underneath of it afterwards. I recommend just putting it on the table, then slowly inching it on top of the shelf!
Driving 60 miles (round trip) for the luxury of getting laid in a house where y'all are the only ones is worth it I cannot even express. Loud sex? No problem. Bathroom break? Don't even bother puttin yer undies on. No time limit, no worries about someone walking in. Ahh, the life.
