Let me tell you, my friend, that there are things done to-day in electrical science which would have been deemed unholy by the very men who discovered electricity—who would themselves not so long before have been burned as wizards.
Dracula, Bram Stocker

And no, Rodan won't gonna lay a claw on them 'cuz he already deserves "Mothra's Taste of Medicine" and fear of Godzilla roasting him to death LOL. (You know what I mean)
a progress so heavy with complexity, so bewildering and kaleidoscopic, that he dare not pause to conjecture on the darkness which lies behind him;

I wanted to try it to a song ~
Today’s logs for writing and language probably won’t get written because I didn’t do a lot of active progress today. A few sentences on sky pirates, and copying down a few Korean lyrics for a notecard is about it.
Today wasn’t unproductive though. Lately I’m realizing more and more that not all productivity is contained in the obvious tasks that are central to achieving goals. I actually went shopping this morning and spent a little of my birthday money on a cute lightweight cardigan that I love. I then went and spent some non-birthday money at Target on cork tiles for my walls (2 packs of three hexagon shaped ones) and stuck them up on my wall today. I have four of them (accidentally hung crookedly) beside my bed and two of them above my computer. It’ll take some time but I’m planning on covering them in motivation and positivity. Quotes I like, happy thoughts, kind things people have said to me, song lyrics, etc. In both Korean and English (because motivation). I also bought myself a beautiful mini binder and some daily planner sheets. I looked up some quotes and selected one for the back of my tarot journal (did I post a picture of the? I got it at Tahoe), and wrote an email to myself in 5 years via futureme.org.
Now, at a glance this all looks like just some stuff. Ways to waste a day. But really these are all small parts of achieving the future I want. The corkboards will be full of things that will inspire me to keep going, the cardigan is a little extra bit of confidence, the planner is a chance to hash out what I need to do each day and get it done - and track my progress a little, that quote for my tarot journal is a reminder that I have some control over my fate and that nothing is set in stone, and the email I’ll receive when I’m 29 is hope for right now that I’ll become the person I want to be and a chance for future me to forgive herself if things don’t go according to plan.
Finding my path, my way forward in life, has been slow starting. But I feel like I’m finally starting to get somewhere - even though I haven’t gotten anywhere yet. It’s taken a long time to learn to recognize the progress I make that isn’t obvious, especially since so much of my progress so far in life has been internal. But I think I’m doing better these days. And I think being able to recognize not only the progress I have made to reach this point, but the different types of progress I might make each day, makes a big difference in how well I can do to continue to improve and reach my goals.
