An adversary is a rival or competitor, an enemy of sorts. But we know well enough from our past experiences with On Video that this blooming East London quartet are bosom buddies with our ears. They further cement themselves as such with Adversary, the group’s latest single and music video, taken from debut EP Clap Trap out later this year. It joins Ghee and Past Tense, both of which we featured with zeal these last few months. Adversary is a feisty cavorting dose of their distinctive brand of garage pop that recalls a bit of early Phoenix, a touch of Vampire Weekend, and even some The Strokes. Huge choruses, sharp melodies, and endearing yelps burst out of the guitar strumming jam. Grab Adversary, here, as we wait for a debut EP that’s shaping up to be quite the treat.
