Today I finally tested my Onak canoe on the water. It was a shaky thing, especially in the beginning, when you are not yet on the way. Once the canoe is moving forward it's behaving quite normal. The main thing I learned today was, that I need definitely more practice when I really want to drive solo. It will be much easier in the beginning with a second person. I went to train station Griebnitzsee, where you just leave the station and walk the stairs down to the lake. This afternoon I tried to find out how to shape the Onak more like the reference picture. I also saw the new video tutorials. On the left you can see my first assembly, on the right side the result of today. I'm not sure if I will match the shape of the reference. The material is still very stiff, it's still hard to fold at some points. 😩 But ideal or not, I think the canoe has already a shape that will work on water. Can't wait to test it.
