“Still, it’s a small town. Rumours spread fast,” Regina pointed out, brushing hair from her face, keeping her facade on as her eyes stayed on the road. Last thing she wanted to hear everyone whisper about it. She has been already watched, everyone just waiting to find something to bring her down.
Licking her lips, Regina shove hands into the pockets of her grey coat, glancing shortly at the blonde. “I don’t know, Emma,” she answered honestly. “You know how the things are right now. Those people still don’t trust me. Especially with this mysterious curse going on. And even though your parents are giving me a second chance, I’m not that sure they would be happy with the news.
Rumors spread fast. Emma was as understanding as she could of Regina’s caution - she had heard her side multiple times and tried her best to follow her wishes regarding the secrecy of what they had. Still, every single time something like this happened, Emma felt her chest burning. She really did try to be understanding: part of her still inevitably felt like she was just a dirty little secret of Regina’s.
“I’m sorry, I love my parents very much but I hardly think they got a say in who I’m dating. A little too late for that, if you ask me.” Emma rolled her eyes. “Okay, sure, the curse is a bit of a fork in the road and I get that. I would just like to know that things won’t be like this forever. Because we will eventually figure this thing out and--- It would be nice to know what happens then.”
