Commitment trumps Resolution (Peace man!)
So we held our annual office Christmas dinner at Toki Japanese (BHS) last night for The OneCORE.As always, we had party games--which seemed more like an entrance exam to NASA due to the difficulty level, but what can you do if you're with a bunch of (mostly) hardcore best-of-the-best of the Ateneo de Manila?? Naks! Wink*wink* only half-meant. I reminded Pia A, "we are OneCORE, not MENSA!" haha. So much for that!
It was so much fun winning those prizes which were all provided by Pia A. (I think her personal therapy is buying those cute yet functional objects whenever she goes to HK to give talks!) Even our final game--which we always end up playing at our regular parties--which consists of picking out any of the ff from a box: the words "odd," "even," and "double." To this day, I still don't get the rules, but it does have something to do with grabbing and stealing each others' prizes. It's kinda fun to watch, but, my being a Mom--PLUS a Libran--takes away all the fun because I start pitying the ones who end up with hardly anything, or even ZERO sometimes. Don't worry, I'm the only one who gets affected ;)
So, anyway, at the end of the night, before we said our closing prayer, Pia A asked each of us to share at least ONE COMMITMENT we would hold ourselves to for 2011. Lemme explain: the beauty of calling it a commitment--as opposed to a resolution--is that, although they have the same definition, resolution seems to have gotten so much flak for ALWAYS being flaked out on! It's true. Each time you either hear someone making their resolutions, or you making yours, you automatically roll your eyes, right? haha.
Everyone in the group said their piece and it was so inspiring that even if the task was just given to us on the fly, it was so easy to come up with something. In my case, I did say that I commit to getting myself inspired to blog regularly again here on my multiply, which is where I have had dealings with so many out there--usually young girls--who seem to warm up easily to me. I realized they don't deserve to be abandoned by me, just because Francis left this world. Enough of the pity party, I need to OWN my own person, the person I truly am, posting away here passionately.
So, what can I say but... I'm back. Thank y'all so much for being patient with me and since I have my other micro-blogging sites, twitter and posterous, at least you were still able to have a small part of me for sometime. So, what do YOU commit to doing this time of the year?
Love endlessly!Pia M <3
