Hey, msumblr, can you tell me how it is that my "cloud storage" which presumably came with the Windows 11 laptop (like many other features I've avoided activating (which, I do understand, may or may not have kept them from activating)) is over a thousand percent full when I'm not aware of ever having accessed it, can't find it in File Explorer so I don't even know what's in it, and (according to what I saw in the clicking around I did do) as intended I've never even created a free One Drive account??
EDIT is there anyone who knows how to stop it? And/or just to navigate to it so I can find out what's washed up there?
Seems like I'll be going old school, on paper, in a manilla file folder, in a file cabinet, in my house...
We are in 2025 I should not have to fucking print my spreadsheets to stop data from disappearing
What the actual fuck is happening office 365?? Prioritising AI that nobody fucking asked for over basic functionality..???? I need you to tell me why random lines in my table keep disappearing. Eat a dick.
Office 365 is my villain origin story.
Love discovering today that every single fucking folder ive created and file I've downloaded and/or moved to one of those folders has been automatically designated as an online-only file in my one drive account, that I never use and just automatically connected to my pc when I logged in with my Microsoft account, and that none of the files actually exist on my computer.
How did I find this out? I got tired of onedrive yelling at me to buy online storage space so I decided, hey I didn't ask for/want/need this backup so let me delete everything from the backup and disconnect my account so it stops downloading all of my files.
Then, all my files fucking DISAPPEARED from my computer and I was like ??? Wtf just happened?? Thank God I can restore the files but God damn I'm so annoyed right now.
An app I didn't want decided that file I download/create on my personal computer should be automatically created as a LINK to its online server??? The fucking audacity. No bitch, I don't want links to files on my pc I want the file. I don't want to be unable to access my shit the moment your server/my wifi dies.
Currently downloading everything off my onedrive but damn this is frustrating. So PSA I guess if you have onedrive connected make sure you are actually storing files on your pc.
Typically me....😅
