Sebastian knelt in front of Ciel and began to undress him for the night, starting with his socks, shoes, and garters, before moving on to his jacket and waistcoat. The demon looked up to his master’s face and froze for a moment, before a feeling overcame him, and without much intention, he leaned up to kiss Ciel softly.

For once, Sebastian had been too late.

Feeling too sure of the situation he had neglected to keep an eye an his master, and if he didn’t hurry now they would both pay the price for his recklessness. Later this evening the demon would definitely have to apologize for his careless behavior; his master might even slap him.

The thought didn’t bother Sebastian right now. As long as the boy could slap him he was still alive and well, after all.

Inhumanly quick steps carried the demon through the hallways of the old manor; he knew where the young earl was. The door jumped out of its hinges when Sebastian pushed it open.

Just in time to hear the loud gun shot echo through the building.

Sebastian often would spend nights in his master’s room, simply standing and watching over him. This started up since he learned about the boy’s asthma, and he was always worried that he would have another fit in the night. Ciel was so very frail, he didn’t want something to happen to his master. That night, he was standing at the side of his bed, all of his nightly chores done, and he simply watched him, analyzing every small movement he made in his sleep. The demon was so lost in thought that he hardly noticed that his master had woken up until he spoke, and his eyes widened in surprise for a moment before smiling. “Of course, my kind are rather  perverted. But I am simply watching over you to ensure your safety. There is no other reason to it.”

The venom and annoyance in the boy's voice was clear. "Trust me, my lord, I dislike this as much as you. Unfortunately, we haven't a choice." They were undercover for a mission from the queen, and the people they were staying with apparently thought they were related and didn't mind sharing a bed. Luckily, tomorrow it would be over with and they could return home. The demon turned over to lay on his back, staring up at the ceiling unblinkingly.

Holding a candelabra in his hand, Sebastian wandered along the dark corridors of the estate. It was utterly silent, which was no surprise seeing that it was well past midnight.

He gave a soft knock to the door of the earl’s bedroom before entering, a quiet but expectant presence. “Young Master,“ the demon uttered, just loudly enough to draw the boy’s attention without startling him all too much.

“I apologize for the disturbance, but I shall have to ask you to wake up.“
