Love Don’t Run || Sophia & Carl || @oneeyedbadass​

Sophia marked off another day in the old calendar that she'd retconned to keep track of the days. She had been doing this since they had taken over the prison. It was her way of making a contribution. At first, she had decorated the pages, but as time wore on, she kept it simple. She usually just marked them off with a tiny x in the corner, but if something she felt had been important happened, she made a quick note. Especially births and deaths. It felt important to her to record that kind of thing.

She tapped the book as she looked ahead at the next week. She'd been getting more and more anxious as the days approached her Mom's birthday. She wanted so badly to get something special for her this year. It seemed more important than any other previous year. She had overheard Carl talking about the things she needed for their pantry and made the decision to go out on a run to surprise her. She hoped to find that something special while she was out there. She put her things away, sliding the box back under her bed before she grabbed her knife and bow and arrows.

That's what brought her to the Grimes' front door. She knocked softly, hoping that Carl would answer. Not that she didn't love Judith and R.J., but she wasn't in the mood today. It had been hard enough to slip out of the house without Mika seeing her and wanting to tag along. She looked up as the door opened, smiling as her eyes locked on Carl.

"I need your help," she insisted, pulling him out onto the porch and reaching to shut the door behind him. "And you can't say no," she insisted, smiling as she met his eye once again.
