Okay, so there's this one. This really, really, really good fic. It's called Stitches, and it's perfect. I'm not finished yet, so I have no description ready, but trust me when I say it's fantastic. It's the perfect length, and has flawless characterization. And what I've loved about it the most is that, despite being a Destiel fic, it has me thinking about Sam half the time.
Stiches is a Season 7 coda, in which Cas crawls out of the lake cold, bloody, naked and blind. Yes, blind. Dean's the one who finds him. From there on, it's an honest-to-goodness perfect, bittersweet mixture of actually-make-you-wince angst and smile-like-an-idiot fluff. Also, you're going to flail. A lot.
The best thing about this fic isn't the Destiel or the Sam, though. It's Hallucifer. Remember that it's set in season seven, so Sam's still going through the hallucinations. This writer (Askance, I think) has the best Hallucifer characterization I've ever read. Expect to jump and cringe and get seriously creeped out (especially if you believe in the non-con theories like I do).
