Last night I had three dreams that I remember
The first dream was quite nice, sweet and simple. It was a warm spring/summer day and there was a small get together occurring at my parents house. Dream people, family and friends alike. I was led by my mom to the basement where my grandfather was smiling with a box of cake he made. It was vanilla cake with a buttercream icing. I tried some and it was delicious (I notice I’ve been leaning more into the taste sense lately in my dreams and I love it). He suggested that I use his recipe for the cake for my wedding and I said that was a lovely idea. About ten minutes later, I’m on the back deck relaxing when I hear my neighbors back door open and I see her carrying something down the stairs and over to my parents deck. She prepared a beautiful vanilla lavender cake with cream cheese icing which was delectable! I was enjoying it so thoroughly I didn’t want to stop eating it. She asked me what I had thought and I said it was delicious and that the lavender was perfect, not too heavy! She suggested I use her recipe for my wedding cake. I thought about the two recipes for awhile and decided that I’d use both, the vanilla lavender for me and George’s personal and the one my grandfather made for the larger cake! It was a win win. Then I decide to move into another dream.
This next dream I was sitting on the beach with my sister and my husband, playing in the sand. We were building mounds while our feet were hit by the ocean coming to shore. I could feel the warmth of the sun on me and all was well until I moved a mound of sand to discover these large, translucent ocean ants. They were the size of a rat and I decided very quickly that I was not in the mood to deal with bugs and quickly switched into my next dream.
This dream starts off with my sister and I traveling to a building filled with restaurants, bars and stores, like a large shopping center. It’s got two floors and an uncountable amount of businesses. It’s located right near the river, the right side of you are looking up at it. We park at the far end of the center and climb out of the car, I look across the river at the people, mostly kids, having fun and playing or skateboarding. I look out at the horizon and see the beauty of the sun going down, the clouds now orange and pink tones. We go up the stairs to look at the store fronts. It’s come to our awareness that it’s about closing time but we persist nonetheless. It’s a bit chilly out but not too bad. We come up to this one store where there is a table set up with small items like key chains and bracelets. I see these two small female busy candles in white and purple and decide that those are wonderful for my sister and I. I say that of course she gets the white one because I know her taste and she agrees lol. She says that I don’t have to buy her one but I insist, that it’s a gift. We walk further down the center and pass, Michael Sheen, my professor. I immediately start to get memories flooding into my brain of being in his classroom. As we pass I tell Katie who he is and we move forward to the end of the center where we check out. We were waiting in line behind two older women, waiting on prices for a few things they picked up but they move aside to let us purchase our things. The lady behind the counter has grey hair and a baby blue cardigan on. She is not happy, probably just ready to end her shift. We finish up and walk down the stairs and around the front of the center which faces another parking lot and fence to the river (it seems to be a bridge). There are benches and people hanging around them, at this point it is twilight. I notice beautiful dark tone blue herons wrapped elegantly around the posts of the fence, as if they are simply taking a nap. We walk around that open area when it begins to pour down rain. We start walking back through the parking lot and the rain increases, becomes much more violent. As we are moving through the lot, my professor asks us what were we’re doing and why we were out in this rain when i explained that we were parked on the other side of the long building. He said it’d be rude of him not to offer us a ride, especially considering he was heading down that way to meet a friend at the bar. We hopped in his truck and I told him I was a student of his in which his expression turned to glee. We got to the end of the building near our parked car and as we were about to leave, he asked us if we wanted to come to the bar with him and his friend to hangout a bit, if we weren’t busy. We looked at eachother and agreed that’d be fun. The rain intensified even more and as we made our way up the stairs to the bar we saw the river had become so high that the people from acrossed were being pulled down into the current and taken away. He asked if it was supposed to be doing that and we said no. He opened the door to the bar and the ac hit us hard since we were soaked from the rain. Before we even got through the door the river raised up even higher and people were leaving the center in a hurry despite nowhere to go. We walked further down to find shelter but when I opened the next available door a corpse was rotting in the entranceway so I closed it and kept going. Finally the rescue crews were there and insisting that everyone release they grips and allow the river to take us down the falls in order to find safety, there were rescue crews at the bottom waiting to recover us. Katie saw my grandfather in the center area of the bridge or what was visible of it, helping people up and decided to go to him but I remained where I was. At that point my professor had let go and allowed himself to go down stream to be rescued but I stayed hold tight to the structure I was on. The winds kicked up and the rain grew heavier.
The building I was hanging onto turned into a shielding system with all of my valuables on it. The rescue woman insisted I let go but I yelled for her to leave me, that I wasn’t going to go without my stuff. I grabbed a box and started to meticulously search through the items for my journals, my most important material items. I could feel the shelf begin to disconnect from the wall but I secured it back with my mind, I wasn’t leaving. I kept moving up and down the shelves, weeding through what I needed. The winds and the rain increased to such a point that I could feel my skin become a bit raw. I disconnected from my senses and kept moving. Finally the rain calmed down and the. Stopped, the river began to fall to normal height and the sun began to shine again.
