Take A Chance

When it comes to love age knows no bounds, no boundary. A long time ago I had an opportunity with a girl. I first saw her when we were barely 20. I saw this girl that caught my eye immediately in a lecture hall. To me she was exquisite. When I saw her the song from South Pacific played in my mind, "Some Enchanted Evening".

At the same time, I started receiving notes anonymously. I couldn't catch her name for some unknown reason. That girl? She's being pursued by another guy (my friend).

Before that someone passed me a message saying someone said "Hi". And then the anonymous notes started. Even now I cannot recall how, but with a lot of luck, I was able to reply to her messages even though I have no idea then who she was. (I only know who the writer was much much later). I had suspects but no one was confirmed until almost over 20 years later.

Yes, I know I am hopeless.

With her I am at a loss for words, I get tongue tied so I present myself as being aloof and uninterested. She is a very pretty lady (she still is). I believe that I should have done more to find out who the mystery writer was, and I think she thinks the same too. Months passed and I still don't know who. I could find out If I really wanted to, I suppose but I didn't.

In the end just a few days before the new year I received a final note. In her previous note she wanted to reveal her identity, in her final note she decided not to. What changed? I have no idea.
