Osoyoos - Sun, Wine and Water

Osoyoos is located in one of the most unique geographical regions in Canada. It’s nestled in the shadow of the Cascade Mountains and is surrounded by Lake Osoyoos. The region is called “Osoyoos Arid Biotic Zone.”

So why should you care?

Osoyoos has:

1.       Lowest annual precipitation in Canada

2.       The warmest fresh water lake in Canada

3.       Is classified as the only dessert in Canada

This creates one of the best wine growing regions in Canada and offers an opportunity to relax on the many beaches of Lake Osoyoos or take part in some mountain biking or one of the many other adventure activities available. Mountain biking is a favourite activity for many who visit. There are many trails around the city that are accessible to the public. The Osoyoos lists many and has directions and maps available here.

After a hard day of mountain biking head to a winery to relax and catch the sunset. A personal favourite is Road 13. With beautiful views of the valley below and great wine one will not be disappointed.
