🔥 and Octavia Blake :O

octavia blake is the goddamn love of my life. right from ‘”we’re back, bitches!” i’ve been in love with her tbh.  she is probably one of the most amazing characters i’ve seen, and definitely one of my favourites.

my undying love for her aside, i love her character arcs so much. like apart from murphy, she’s probably jroth’s best developed character. we see her go from this scared little girl who’s only ever seen the inside of one tiny room and a jail cell to an almost normal teenage girl with a boyfriend who’s finding her place in the world to a badass warrior queen who can and will kill you. and then to a batshit crazy person, but i digress.

this fandom hates on her for blodreina and for her actions, but honestly who could blame her? imagine being a 17/18yr old kid and being responsible for what you assume to be the last of the human race. to her knowledge, she’s just lost her brother, the only person apart from her dead boyfriend who’s ever really loved her, as well as all of the other people she’s ever known. imagine how you’d feel. and then to be told that, unless you literally convince an entire bunker of people to become a cannibal that the human race is going to die out. you’d probably go off the rails a bit too. plus, she wasn’t even the main advocate for it. in 5x11 you can see it was clearly abby. and then later on in that episode with the ″omon gon oson” and the shooting. she had to break their spirit somehow. she needed to get them to eat or, as far as she knows, the human race will become extinct.  and then later on with the whole fighting ring. six years is a long ass time. the grounders were already wary of having a skaikru leader, or even having them become apart of their alliance. i mean look at season three. leaders and government always need a way to control their people, including octavia. the fighting ring was hers. i agree that it was a bit unorthodox, but it worked. she, a barely-18yr old girl who lived under the floor in a spaceship for 16 years kept hundreds of people alive for six years. you have to admit that it’s at least impressive. 

yeah, she definitely could’ve handled things better and i don’t condone all of her actions, but she’s a good character even if she isn’t a good person. even if you think differently, you gotta admit that marie is a phenomenal actress

her skin was the colour of the first perfect snowfall of winter, contrasting beautifully with her gorgeous brown eyes. they were the colour of the sweetest wine, bubbling with hazing richness and beauty. they were framed by full lashes and arching eyebrows; her lips were a perfect cupid’s bow curve. her hair, shaved at the sides, was pulled back into a high ponytail, leaving wisps cascading around her ears. it was a similar shade to her eyes, but slightly darker: soft and shiny, like the most beautiful mahogany. everything about her drew you in. her eyes were perfectly intoxicating with just the right amount of vulnerability. her lips were full and enticing, and her pale skin was satin.

she rose slowly, her body brushing the tangled grass and weeds. her bare feet struck the earth with fluid and unbelievably fast movements as she broke into a run. in the undergrowth, the small antlers of a young buck poked above, dashing deliriously in a vain attempt of escape.then, so fast that if you blinked you’d have missed it, she leaped into the air and somersaulted onto the open arms of an oak. the rough bark of the tree was the exact shade that her focused, unblinking eyes usually were, though now they were inky black with hunger and lust.

her hair, shaved to a soft bristle in parts, was a gorgeous rich brown. it was tied back, but strands escaped and cascaded over her satin forehead. her eyes were a similar shade, but brown was far too simple to describe them. they were like copper in honey, like nature just after it rains. looking into them was like looking into a small piece of the most beautiful forest. they were framed by thin, square glasses that suited her face. her nose, pierced by a silver ring, curved softly over lips that stretched into a gentle smile. though her jawline was sharp and defined, it did nothing to distract from the pure warmth and friendliness that almost radiated from her kind face. with her etheral beauty and even more gorgeous eyes, she was like a goddess at the dawning of the world, straight out of an ancient painting. just looking at her, you could imagine the glossy robes that might've once adorned her perfect body.
