Hello friend!
1. How long ago did you start reading fanfiction? Writing fanfiction?
Hahahahahhahahaha okay so the short answer is I got back into fandom last November (binge-reading jumpstarted by a reread of TLAT) and started writing again in May of this year.
The LONG answer is that my babysitter introduced me to fanfiction when I was...10? So from the ages of 10-19 I was very into (mostly HP) fanfiction and would read/write (I had FLOPPY DISKS with fics on them, and still have my old journals). I moved into other fandoms after the books ended, and then got busy with college and stopped altogether. When I graduated college I somehow fell back into Jily, read TLAT and Comm, and then kind of fizzled out again, and then BOOM. Seven years later and I'm BACK in full force.
4. Link your three favorite fics right now.
This is SO hard! I'm going to list ongoing WIPs, of which I'm reading so many 😅 This is absolutely NOT an exhaustive list and definitely skews towards recent(ly updated) bias.
Class of '78 by @emeralddoeadeer even the bones will do by YOU no body, no crime by @wearingaberetinparis (breaking the rules and giving a 4th title in case you're looking for recs since my list includes you lol) you and i will die unbelievers by @thequibblah (not an ongoing WIP since it was completed this weekend but w/e)
So it seems that canon-divergent is the flavor of the month for me😅
20. What’s your favorite part about the fanfiction writing process?
I love the feeling of having completed something I set out to do! And I love seeing how different parts resonate with different people 🥰
Thank you again so much!
I'm on vacation, send me asks!
1, 6, 7 & 24! x
Hello! ❄️ thank you for the numbersss
1. Do you have a word-count goal for the upcoming year?
I'm a slow writer, so my word count goals are very noob-like. But I do plan on working extensively on my multichapter WIPs - so let's keep the target at 200K, and I'll get back to you on my progress halfway through 2023 XD
6. Which yet-to-be-started fic is first on your list?
Yet to be started? Probably this childhood friends to lovers au that I've been tinkering with. But yet to be posted is a really fun fic I've been working on with James as a Secret Intelligence employee.
7. Will you change anything about the way you interact with other writers?
My only plan for this is to spread positivity and encourage writers in the fandom by reading, commenting, and having healthy, supportive interactions with them 💜 Not too different from what I've been trying to do already!
24. By the end of this year, you want your fandom to think of you as “that author who _______.”
"made people fall in love with jily all over again" but also "made others feel welcome in the fandom"
78 🔥🔥
THANK YOU 💕

ALL RIGHT so. i think this would be post war fremione, maybe even still at hogwarts during clean up. i think fred and hermione would be friends but not extraordinarily close, and one of them would find the other kind of... zoned out just looking at the destruction. probably fred finding hermione, honestly, and then he looks at her and says that not everything was lost. not only did they win, but they're going to rebuild and it's going to be better than ever. and hermione maybe says she likes things the way they were. and so fred takes her somewhere in the castle—maybe to the swamp they put there her fifth year, and he shows her that history is still standing, that more than just hope has persevered. the destruction is easy to see because it's new to them, so their eyes are drawn to it. but the things that are the same, that stayed standing, they're harder to see right now. and maybe hermione, who saw fred fall and thought he had given his life for a moment, until they were able to get to him and save him, says something like "but i can see you" and fred smiles and says "and i see you" and hermione is quiet for a minute, but eventually she says "we need somewhere to begin" (a la the wonderful lyrics) and fred holds out his hand and says "how about right here?" and she takes his hand
top 5 books!
Man I'm about to be read for filth because I honestly don't read a lot of books anymore and I feel EMBARRASSED lol. I haven't really found my genre now that I've grown out of YA but I'm slowly working on it.
So uhhh here are books that made a big impact on me? They're definitely going to be YA (sorry....also maybe I'm taking book recs?)
1. Looking for Alaska by John Green 2. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen 3. The Gemma Doyle Trilogy by Libba Bray 4. The Two Princesses of Bamarre by Gail Carson Levine 5. Atonement by Ian McEwan
Ask me my Top 5 anything!
I have so many questions soooooo I’m sorry haha
✍ 🍷 ❌ 👀
Hi there! No apologies necessary- I posted them so people would ask! 😅
✍🏼Do you have a beta reader?
Answer: I do not! One of the things I'm aiming to do with my writing is kill my need for perfectionism and put things out into the ether instead of holding on and revising, revising, revising. I think beta readers are incredible resource, though!
🍷Do you drink and write?
Answer: Nope! I'm not a big drinker, personally, and mostly only drink when I'm eating or out with friends. Never say never, though!
❌What's a trope you will never write?
Answer: I kind of answered this here last week, but long story short, power imbalances, evil/dark/death eater versions of any of the characters, or anything that seems like a huge departure from the characters as we know them based on the text/additional literature like interviews and Pottermore. Also time travel 🤷🏼♀️
👀Tell me about an up and coming wip please!
Answer: I'm pretty sure I've talked about this before, but I'm slowly but surely working on a Slytherin Lily AU and I'm SO excited for it, but it's going to be a huge undertaking, similar to Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting).
Lily's been my favorite character for over a decade and I’m really excited to flesh out this whole other what-could-have-been timeline. I've always really fascinated by the non-evil traits of Slytherin that we don’t really get to see from a Gryffindor-centric perspective, and specifically am excited about exploring that through Lily, a character that we know without a doubt is Good. How do Slytherin traits like ambition, determination, and self-preservation wrestle with one another? How far does loyalty go before it transforms into nothing more than resourcefulness when faced by threats on all sides?
Send me some asks- I have an open weekend!
