They don’t pay me enough for this. Genos ducked and wove through the arms of living water that had overtaken the largest park in city B. It was all he could do to keep from being swallowed up like the rest of the citizens and heroes that had gotten in the living lake’s way. They were hardly visible through the torrent of moving water, though they seemed oddly still inside it. Maybe there was a pocket of still water to keep them from getting caught in the thrashing parts?
Regardless, Genos had to get to them before they could drown. With every blast from his arms, the air just got thicker with steam to the point where he could hardly see anything at all. If it weren’t for his motion detection and hearing, he’d be fucked. I’m running out of time. I need help.
Before he could catch his breath, a massive tentacle of water came crashing down, sending him through a few nearby trees. Luckily his cannons and vents were hot enough to keep from being doused entirely. It still hurt, though. For some reason, however, the tentacles left him in his wet crater to go after something else. A distant familiar noise of gunshots spurred a gurgling wail from the lake’s core. Had his reinforcements finally gotten there?
Seeing the cyborg being tossed around like a ragdoll was troubling, to say the least. Zombie’ wasn’t sure how effective it would be to use the monster’s gelatinous body as target practice, but it was probably better than letting it compress the Demon Cyborg like a can of spam.
He fired a few rounds into it, making his best efforts to avoid hitting the unlucky civilians, bobbing lifelessly inside its’ giant translucent mass as it moved. Zombie realized Genos likely had a better chance at taking this thing out of commission more quickly, what with his ridiculous amount of destructive power.
The older hero had no doubts he was well and capable of dealing with this level threat, but with all those people’s lives at risk with every passing second, he simply didn’t have the time to spare.
“Hey blondie! You still with us?”, he shouted off into the direction he’d seen Genos being thrown. ‘Shit, might have saved his ass but now that thing’s after me-’
Zombie’ jumped back as a giant watery limb made to crush him, barely avoiding it as it continued to swing aimlessly at him. The monster made to grab for his legs as he hopped further and further back, each attempt was closer to landing a hit, the creature obviously growing more irritated with him as he leaped away.
